I have a 992.1 base 911. I have never once regretted not buying a higher trim level. This car is an absolute dream to drive.

In my opinion the silver color looks great on the 911.

Subjective, but 911 is a much better looking car than M4

I agree those wheels are stunning. Maybe I'm old fashioned but the trend of black alloys just doesn't do it for me. Not just porsche, they're all at it. Guess majority of people must like them?!

If I had the means to choose between a BMW M4 and a 911 Carrera, I wouldn't even have to think about it. Porsche 911 all day. It's a timeless classic even when its brand new. The BMW M4 will be "dated" in 5 years time (the M4 is still a fantastic car, the 911 is just on another level).

I bought a new 2025 992.2 n a part of me died...i no longer look thru magazines, YT posts on all other cars. The excitement of finding the NEXT DREAM CAR is gone. Nothing else is a Porsche n i'v driven countless others.
Now, it's just me with my FABULOUS Porsche 992.2 Carrera in carmine red.
But i did pick up a new hobby...finding the next best driving roads.
That Canadian drive from Vancouver  BC to Banff  Alberta looks amazing!

992.1 GT Silver is all the car I can dream for and now own and it's glorious

Joe, great review, again. I purchased a 992.1 from new and it’s better than I dared hope for. Interesting the claimed 385 bhp Porsche claim usually test at 412-414. The PDK and sports chrono usually turn in 3.6-3.7 secs to 0-100kph. It’s extraordinary. The early test by Remove Before Race channel was very interesting.
I think the reason Joe, you were amazed in the 992.2 is that Porsche ALWAYS seem to understate their figures.
I did wonder if I would regret not buying the S.  No way, this is a great car and in the wet with the wet setting on, incredible. Just wonderful. So happy.

The acoustic glass is actually lightweight and lets in more sound/drone. It’s bad naming for the option.

Just purchased a new Carrera in the US and am currently in the break in stage for the car.  You nailed all the points, including the road noise on rough tarmac.  After driving multiple versions on the 911 at PEC LA and Atlanta, the base model Carrera does meet all my needs as a daily driver, that people want to talk about whenever I am out driving around Seattle. Great video!

Great review Joe! Makes me feel happier to just get a 992.2 base. I like your comment about being able to push through a few gears on the base to reach a good speed and listening to that engine vs simply reaching 60 lightning fast in GTS or GT3 and thinking I missed all the fun! Faster is not always better. Tesla drivers look like some of the most bored people on the road 😂

Can't go wrong with Porsches n BMWs.... great review as always mate....cheers

Fantastic review Joe. Over A$330k here. I have driven a few in the past, in particular from Melbourne to Adelaide. Amazing.

Porsche did some nice cost cutting with the full digital dash and starter button.

I have already seen few 992.2 reviews but when Joe does one you just cant miss it . Great one as always 👍😀

Not sure why anyone would pick an M4 competition over a 911, not even close in my opinion!

If I remember correctly, the 992.2 Carrera got the turbocharger and the cooling system of the 992.1 GTS. So with a normal Stage 1 you should get around 550 hp. So an increase of approx 150 hp. That would be the only reason to go for the facelift.

I own a Macan, it’s my first Porsche. I was looking at eventually getting into a 911 - I would go for a low mile, lightly used/CPO 992.1 over a .2. I just prefer the analog tach and the turn style ignition, I’m not the biggest fan of the all digital dash and the button looks cheap

My stopping point was the 2019 991.2 4 gts.  Perfect blend of tech and analog for me.  After 70+ cars in my lifetime, I'm officially done.  😊

I want one so bad... I want it to be my retirement car, get a 4S, and drive it for 10 years.
