Her humbleness, her wit, her sense of humor, her sweetness, her beauty, the way she engage the audience, her kindness... after all these years, again and again, she simply proves what we have already known since she enchanted the world with Mary Poppins: She's practically perfect in every way. The way she sings trying to imitate Gertrude Lawrence is adorable! Julie's voice was far superior than Gertrude. What a delightful time. And how lucky that audience was!

Such a wonderful woman,  kind and grounded.  As good as she is at telling a story,  she also truly seems interested in what other people have to say.  This is probably why she is so vibrant and remains ageless *

that last may be a bit much,  but i just adore her

Sad that Julie’s musical gem was not given the positive reviews it deserved!
Fortunately, this treasure is still available on dvd….it’s length can be viewed like a series!

An underrated film. Some great sequences and numbers. It's wonderful that the great Robert Wise captured these theatrical numbers on film with such precision and attention to detail.

WOW! Didn't know that My Ship was sung and recorded live. Julie is just perfection vocally. She is one of the few singers who was able to bring the incredible Bel Canto style of Italian singing into the English repertoire for film. The only other singer that was able to do as well was Mario Lanza, but that was before her time.

An underrated film because audiences expected another Sound of Music; but Robert Wise never repeats himself.

An underrated masterpiece. Her performance, Daniel Massey's performance -- both stunning. It was the wrong time for that film. 1968 audiences didn't want that film. But that doesn't take away its brilliance. Also, Funny Girl came out around the same time, the stories were similar and Barbra was such an exciting new star, it stole the oxygen from this film.

Dame Julie Andrews, truly a Grande Dame...❤

I saw STAR a few weeks ago. What a wonderful movie! It showcased Julie’s various talents in such a great way! I loved it!

when no one asked what her favorite outfit was in this movie 🥲

Such   perfectly    moving    musical  numbers     .     Unbelievable  charm!😊❤

Thank you for sharing these!

I ❤ Julie Andrews is still alive loved it.

What a great testimony on this classic movie!

They couldn’t get anyone to play her unless they dubbed her voice. There is and will never be anyone with that voice

I love her :')

Thank you for sharing this!

I really hope they do another one. Really want to see Julie Andrews in person. Her movies uplifted my childhood. She's still the same person, and I love that.

She's a real queen!

I   love  STAR!😊😊

I watched the DVD of STAR! two days ago and it is my favourite film of Dame Julie Andrews. Had this been more critically acclaimed and commercially successful, she would have been nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress: she lost out on that new kid on the Hollywood block Barbra Streisand and Katharine Hepburn respectively as a tie for FUNNY GIRL and THE LION IN WINTER.

It is just a damn shame that we will never see STAR! getting a full 4K UHD restoration it surely deserves because these money grabbing greedy fat cats at Disney will not release classic movies on that format, despite they are releasing the previous collaboration between Andrews’ and director Robert Wise being THE SOUND OF MUSIC for it’s 60th anniversary later this year (and what happened to MARY POPPINS for that landmark celebration last year?) as they have bought 20th Century Fox.

The only 4K physical media Disney are interested in releasing are CGI filled mainstream studio fare with explosions and not enough emphasis on classics gathering dust in their studio vaults ☹️
