The White Fang is S tier for me. I don't think im going to use anything else for the rest of my guitar playing years 😂

the one you put in the F tier is a plectrum for an acoustic guitar. in the bluegrass community, it is probably the best known and most loved plectrum.

Tortex Flow 1.0mm (Blue) guitar pick is my all-time favorite.

Jazz III Ultex 2.0 is my favourite, but I had to return three bags of 24 because of their lacking QC. One side always sounded tinny and thin because the tips were unevenly aligned. Pretty sure they use these big packs to get rid of b-ware. It's a perfect pick if you get a proper model though(basically from the standard bags of 6)

Jazz 3 i just ordered the jazz 3 purple xl 1.14m

lol, I was just about to comment and I got to it, yup Jazz III user here, if you know you just know.. Sounds weird but something I noticed is Jazz III feel different against the string than tortex, I have JD purple tortex as backup picks.. Jazz III is by far the best, if you find it small use the Jazz III XL - You're welcome ;)

I'm a new player and went through a ton of picks trying to find one that didn't slip around in my fingers. I know a lot of it is me just learning and needing to get better technique, but the Ibanez Sand Grip ones finally worked pretty good for me and has helped immensely.

Love seeing what the guitar community thinks! Personally I run Dunlop Stubby Jazz 3.0mms as my main pick, or D'Addario Black Ice if I need something thinner

Petrucci Jazz 3 all the way for me. Although I am starting to think about getting something else for acoustic stuff

Jazz III 4 Life!

Dunlop Matt Heafy Jazz III picks are chef’s kiss 😚

Any jazz iii, jazz iii variantion, or jazz iii inspired pick is great in my book. Right bow I'm really liking the john petrucci pick

Once you go Jazz III, you never go back. I’ve been using the white Jazz III Tortex lately, love it.

My S & personal but the D’Addario 1.1 Black Ice is my main..underrated but gets the job done for me & the right size followed my the Jazz III are mine🤘🎸🤘

My issue with Jazz III’s is I love how they feel to play but they always sound too dull and small to me. I’ve tried many of the other materials (Tortex, Ultex, Carbon Fiber) and even the Fender 551 Celluloid which is the same shape and even if that gets rid of some of the dullness, something about how I play makes them sound small. When I switch back to a full-size pick, even if I’m slightly less precise with them, the tone always sounds fuller and more chunky.

I also find thinner picks in general sound better than thick ones. Sure, there’s a balance - too thin like that D’Addario celluloid you had makes it hard to play, but a good Fender Medium, Tortex Yellow, or even a Nylon 0.88 just has a snap to it and a sort of transparency to it that I find thicker picks don’t and they cut through live mixes better too, while thicker picks often sound a bit duller and a bit wooly, even with amp tweaks.

Of course everyone is different in how they hold their pick and the way they attack the strings and I go back and forth all the time but even in your video, the thinner the pick was, the better it sounded to me.

A bit more challenging to play leads compared to using a thicker pick but Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Dimebag, Paul Gilbert, and even guys like Kirk Hammett, Stevie Ray, and Dave Mustaine all did just fine with medium picks so not all hope is lost!

I'm a rock/metal guy. For my electrics, I use Dunlop Flex .73mm. I used the Dunlop Nylon 1.0 for decades previous to that though. I like the grip texture on the flex better. On my acoustics, I've used the Dunlop Tortex .60 for the longest time. I like the snap attack on those on the acoustic strings.

It'll always be Blue Tortex 1mm for me. It's the conventional size for a pick (no large triangle picks like Santana, no tiny Petrucci Jazz IIIs). It's thin, and yet tough enough to not bend against strings as you pick, smooth for comfort but textured enough to never drop the damn thing. Great for picked bass and fake flamenco lines on the classical (because i am NOT growing my nails haha). Does funk, thrash and pop without any issues. Absolutely perfect pick

Dunlop flow standard 1.14 for everything!

I tried for about 100 picks in 30 years, the last 11 years i play better on each piece off river stone i can get my hands on, max. 3.5 mm. Try it and be surprised! 😊

I go for whatever has the most grip and at least a heavy stiffness. Picks don’t really change the tone at all on electric in my opinion
