This week we’re exploring Tumbarumba and heading high into the Snowy Mountains – and this turned into one of those places where we kept wondering…What on Earth is Going On up here?! 😂

From our camp near Tumbarumba, we head towards Cabramurra through some incredible mountain country, discovering more of the massive Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme along the way.  There are lookouts, campsites, some seriously impressive infrastructure – and one VERY large load making its way through the mountains!

We also discover the fascinating and tragic story of the Southern Cloud, an Australian airliner that disappeared in 1931 and remained lost in the Snowy Mountains for almost 27 years.

This was one of those drives where there seemed to be something interesting around every corner – even if we didn’t always know what we were looking at, at first! 😄
