"The North Report" follows two worlds of fishing in Mecklenburg: Brit Diederich, a one-woman show from Brusow near Kröpelin, runs her market stalls with a lot of manual labor and a close connection to her customers. And the report follows the traditional family business Dehmel in Dabel near Sternberg, where son Eike is preparing for the future.

Between smokehouses, lakes, and sales vans, the report shows hard work, economic pressure, and the passion for a craft in transition – caught between existential worries and hope for the future.
