Yes I bought a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 again.

After owning one previously, selling it, and moving on to other bikes, I never really gave the Himalayan a proper chance to prove itself. I sold it before taking it on any serious adventure — and I’ve always felt like I left that story unfinished.

So this time, I’m doing things differently.

The new Himalayan 450 is going to be the bike taking me into the next chapter of the Dadventure, including my biggest adventure yet: the Great Central Road and a major Australian outback trip.

In this video, I explain why I chose the Himalayan 450 again over great competition like the CFMoto 450MT, BMW F450GS, Kawasaki KLE500 and CRF300L Rally. Why I went with this colour, what it felt like getting back on one, and why I chose it over the growing number of middleweight adventure bikes available today.

Over the last three weeks I absolutely TRASHED my Himalayan on 2700km on the UK TET. It was rough, I overloaded it, I crashed it hard (somersault), I bottomed it out hard multiple times, I dropped it, it was very, very hot and the bike did not miss a beat. The damage of the somersault is about 50 euros and the bike still rides as new.

This is a very impressive bike.

You've hit the nail on the head with the Himalayan, on paper it has all the credentials to be excellent off road but it's actual forte is as a travel bike that can cope with all roads and no roads, it's a bike that can be ridden all day in comfort, has the tank range fuel economy and you not killing the engine doing highway speeds, there's not much to dislike, its biggest downfall for many is it hasn't got rally styling looks which for me is a blessing, it's a misunderstood bike, I like my himi, it's a good tool in the box

I have had many bikes over the past 4 decades, got the RE continental, beautiful bike but traded it back for RE Bear as I just did not trust it. Now just added Himalayan 450 to the stable, what a bike, I have ridden all adventure bikes in US and my last one was the R1200GSA, and this gives me the same vibes without the weight and hit to the wallet. Happy now, this is bike for life.

Congratulations Solid,
I purchased my Himalayan ( Kaza Brown ) back in May 2024 now have 15.000 kilometres on the dial, been faultless except for both switch blocks which I have had replaced under warranty.
I have had my BMW 2010 R1200GS Twin Cam for the last 16 years and 180.000 kilometres.
The poor BM gives me filthy looks because my backside is always on the Hima.
I am a lit bit older than you 62, been riding on a daily basis for the last 42 years and the Himalayan is a good all rounder and one of the smoothest gearboxes I have every owned.
With the price of fuel at the moment the Himalayan is my go to commuting bike, I am getting around the 3.6 litres per 100k's.

ive had a himmy for 1 year. The other day a friend of a friend ask me if I would sell it to him. Told him no but depending on his offer. Guy asked me what would I buy next. Told I would buy a new himalayan

the folks who designed the engine and those that designed the frame and geometry are geniuses, it has been designed with a lot of integrity, very impressed with mine. Better rear shock would be good.

It's really nice to see you starting a new chapter with the Himalayan. I thought it was a real shame to see you sell it, especially since it had given you back the joy of riding. Luckily, I only had to buy my Himi once. After almost two years, I'm still in my honeymoon phase. I hope for lots of new and fun videos with your new Himi. I also bought a kamet-white, tubeless '26 Himi 450. My boxes included most range, and the Himi gets better fuel economy than the cfmoto 450mt on 87aki/91ron fuel, and Acerbis makes a 23L tank for it, which 'll give it a 600km range. After a couple months I got the dealer to install Veridian cruise control, which I like. I cut back the front of the inner front fender, as I found the inner fender shot dirt and mud past the higher front fender, which then gets blown back on the bike and the rider. Funnily, hearing you talk about the bmw 450 sounds exactly like me talking about it :)

I currently own a 25 T7 and Drz4s. The morale of the story is, unicorns don’t exist 🦄

The true solution is two bikes. One mid size for touring and moderate adventure riding. One dual spot for some adventure and mostly trail riding.
