Best trek in my view, also the hand written credits gets me every time

"This ship and her history will shortly become the care of another crew. To them and their posterity will we commit our future. They will continue the voyages we have begun and journey to all the undiscovered countries, boldly going where no man - where no one - has gone before." 😭😭😭

Kang shouting Shakespeare is actually what I really liked.

14:03 Yes, I’m that guy. This is the Enterprise-A. The original Enterprise was destroyed in Star Trek III.

That sign-off, with the actors literally signing the screen like artists finishing their great work, brings tears to my eyes every time.

Ah, but you forgot to mention another important key element at the end.  The main actors  literally sign off,  their animated signatures appear in order as the credits roll,  beneath that majestic score.   A perfect ending.

17 year old me was so excited to watch this movie when it came.  A perfect teaser trailer, a perfect soundtrack and a perfect plot.  I still love this movie 34 years later.

Fun Fact: The Assassin was played by ODO  (René Auberjonois)

9 yr old me watched this with his dad and his dad...good memory.

"I’d give real money if he’d shut up" my favorite line of all the old movies

I’m 53. Seen the movie countless times. Still tear up at the ending and the credits…..❤

I never realized how close Kirk was philosophically with th Starfleet side of conspirators. His slow turn in hindsight is so perfect

The final scene still makes me misty eyed. I grew up with the Enterprise and her crew. Seeing them say "good bye" was awesome and also sad.

This one was my favorite.  Christopher Plummer was excellent as General Chang.  "I see you, Kirk.  Can you see me??"

The signatures of the actors who portrayed the crew of the Enterprise in the ending credits capped a perfect end to the era of Star Trek TOS. It was a wonderful and emotional “Good Bye.”

The "facinating" by McCoy was often said by Spock. The actor's signatures at the end was just perfect. I loved how Marvel did that at the end of ENDGAME

This film is very much a perfect movie. The writing is solid, the action is engaging, the comedy is well placed and funny, the pacing is just right, the story is well thought out and heartfelt, and the performances are literally all top-notch. The film treats the characters and the history with respect, and allows our heroes to retire with the dignity they have earned.

No film is ever "perfect," but this film achieves what so few films do: the suspension of disbelief such that the watcher gets sucked into that world and becomes part of the story.

This film, The Wrath of Khan, The Empires Strikes Back, Terminator 2, The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Aliens, and others like these are the films that will still be talked about 50 years from now.

"The budget allowed for more than 4 ridges on the forehead!"

The Enterprise's final heading was absolutely perfect too: "Second star to the right, and straight on till midnight."

still brings a tear to my eye.

The shockwave in the beginning blew my mind
