We know that Wolverine often gets into his Berserker Rage and just annihilates anything that moves around him, and when he’s in such a state, it is best to stay away from him. But then there was one more state that Logan fell into, thanks to the machinations of first Magneto and the Genesis, the so-called heir of Apocalypse, and this Wolverine was called Feral Wolverine, and for good reason. Wolverine stayed in his feral state for the better part of at least 45 issues from the 1988 Wolverine comics, and not only did his face change, his speech itself became more animalistic, and his sense of strategy was replaced with baser bestial instincts, but all this is just the tip of the ice berg that is the anatomy of the Feral Wolverine, and in this video, that’s exactly what I am gonna discuss.

Fatal attractions storyline was published in 93 and supposed to have taken place about that time (again sliding timeline) so he had the Adamantium bonded skeleton for around 30 years.
I always found it more reasonable an explanation that the physical trauma of having the Adamantium removed how it was, ripped off/out of his bones and through his muscle and skin caused his healing factor to break for a time, at first not working (in the comics it was not working for a time after the "removal" and then came back. He mentions to Jubilee in the comic where the bone claws are first shown that he pops them in and out a few times a day to keep the channel open "like pierced ears" as the skin isn't quickly healing over the holes after retracting his claws as it previously had been, and earlier in the same comic the "prove I should still be on the team" danger room test scene where he first pops his bone claws in front of the rest of the X-men was at least several days after the adamantium was removed, because he had been healing much slower thay usual) When it came back I always figured (head cannon) the healing Factor overcompensated, over developed his bones and musculature leading to the feral look, as it had grown accustomed over 30 years to constantly counteracting adamantium poisoning, and had to heal any lingering injury to his entire skeleton and flesh after adamantium was ripped out of and through it and then almost being forced back in, again through his flesh and into/on his bones.
The feral mentality part of it was a response to not just physical but also mental trauma (as in the past he would litterally run off, mentally regress, and live with wolf packs, especially after trauma, like Rose's death in the Origin series) of emtiinaly survivng the removal and failed forced rebonding and brai. Implants, possibly combined with/reinforced by a kind of body dysmorphia as he was freaked out by his physical change.
I mean he looked pretty regular human while fighting Sabertooth right before he got the adamantium back, which if the adamantium surpresses mutation theory is right should have been peak feral time. Also if he had been Feral mode when Apocalypse re-bonded the skeleton it would have been to the larger feral frame, kinda locking at least the skeleton into the feral form. So, clearly the feral form and worn off by then.
