In this #metalmonday edition of #thedailydoug, we're diving into an album by Judas Priest for the very first time! I'm listening to side one of their 1976 album Sad Wings of Destiny. I had heard Victim of Changes and Dreamer Deceiver previously, but it had been so long that I didn't remember them much. And, The Ripper and Deceiver were great first-time listens! I hope you enjoy!

Old Judas is unmatched. Simply simply unmatched. As classic as anything else. Pure pleasure to listen to.

Dreamer Deceiver / Deceiver is one of those double songs that only comes once in a lifetime imo.

Your face was priceless, mind-blown hearing Rob's scream on Dreamer Deceiver! I still feel the same after hundreds of time listening to this album.

That guitar solo in Dreamer Deceiver combined with Rob's vocals is beyond words... really, this musicality is the quintessence of art.

Absolutely one of the GREATEST Heavy Metal records of all time. I discovered Priest at the age of 12. I'm 55 now and this album still gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.

Rob Halford multi octave voice, unbelievable

Think about this for a second. This could arguably be anyone's favorite metal album and the band hadn't even found their voice yet! Greatest metal band of all time. Priest for life 🔥🔥🤘🤘

This is my favorite Priest album. It's nothing like the 80's plus sound. Dreamer/Deceiver might be my favorite JP song of all time.

The scream at the end of Victim of Changes is otherworldly.

This IS my favourite Priest album.

Their albums Stained Class and Unleashed in the East are, for me, easily two of the greatest metal albums of all time.

I love this album, and it's one of my favorite album covers ever

One of the greatest albums ever made. I heard this album when I was 13 years old and coincidentally the album was also 13 years old at the time, and it literally blew my mind. I still listen to it, start to finish to this day. Masterpiece!!!!

The Ripper is my favorite Priest song. Always has been. Just wish it was longer. Imagine The Ripper, but the length of Victim of Changes! Oh, hell yeah!
