What are the biggest mistakes in history?

Small note, DEFCON is inverted from the way most people think about it. We spend most of our days at DEFCON 4. DEFCON 1 is war. So a plane taking off at DEFCON 3, is merely primed to go into attack formation and is basically just getting off the ground in the event of a preemptive strike a la Pearl Harbor.

"The downside is that you have to move around a lot, because your herd needs new grass, which makes it hard to build cities.  Unless you are the Mongols"
"Certain conglomerations of people are seen as civilizations, whereas nomadic cultures generally aren't.  Unless you are, say it with me, the Mongols"
"The nomads settled into cities of their own, as nomads almost always will.  Unless, wait for it, you are the Mongols"

That was just the first THREE episodes of the series. There's a 6 minute compilation of those...

As always, Don't forget to be Awesome!

In regards to the Cold War Hysteria, you could say some of the errors are downright...hysterical

The british theft of the danish navy twice because Britain thought Denmark wanted to ally with France, while there literally were no such plans, quite the opposite in fact. This led to the split of Denmark-Norway, which weakened Denmark leading to Prussia attacking half a century later, this in turn led to German unification Prussian dominance and straight into WWI.

The prank for a tv show alibi for Kim Jong-Nam's assassination is actually quite interesting. The women had done many prank videos for their alleged handlers before being sent to "prank" Kim at the airport. The trial was quite lengthy and both women ended up doing time with one being released very early while the other was left to rot for almost her entire sentence which is kinda crazy. I think it would be a great topic for a react video :)

34:53 honestly the logistics of the Roman Empire is crazy when you stop to think about it.

Can you imagine trying to manage and organize or simply just rule as much territory as they did in the time before modern communication tools?

I like the longer videos. Keep it up! 👍

As a retired US Army PSYOP Soldier, Operation Fortitude was taught to us as one of the best PSYOP campaigns we have ever come up with.

Operation mince meat is one of the most surreal to me. The british dressed a corpse as a royal marine officer and used a submarine to drop it near the spanish coast in an area with german sympathies. The body had false intel on it which was passed along to the germans who actually took the bait. Its just so crazy to me that worked lol

you deserve more attention keep it up O.G.

Knock is the detonation in cylinder as opposed to combustion, which causes rough engin feel, and can damage the engine. Tetraethyl lead was effective at preventing knock. Funny thing was ethanol could have been used instead, but TEL was cheaper.

There is a reason they don't say shoot the messenger. Certainly don't behead em

Operation Fortitude was pretty cool, yeah. My favorite by far, though, is Operation Mincemeat. The brilliance cannot be overstated.

I love these longer videos!

"Reservehandverfahren" > manual backup algorithm

Knocking is unplanned and unwanted combustion.

I may be biased being from Chicago but the u505 is my favorite u boat story

42:20 there is one of the inflatable tanks on display in dc at the spy museum. It was on one of his pepperbox exclusive channels, but the fat electrician pointed it out during his filmed tour of the museum

Great video
