Every career has a first day. And every career has a last.

This is the story of five British and Hollywood legends — Leonard Rossiter, Stewart Granger, Jeremy Brett, Richard Todd, and David Niven — and the extraordinary distance between the first time each of them appeared on screen and the last.

From a locked dressing room at the Lyric Theatre in London to a Swiss Alpine village. From an uncredited Mexican extra role at MGM to an Academy Award. From D-Day paratrooper to playing his own commanding officer eighteen years later. From the definitive Sherlock Holmes to the first British celebrity to speak openly about bipolar disorder.

Five men. Five careers. Ten performances. And the shape of five extraordinary lives.
