I don't think Konami will replace boss monsters with modern ones.

CB will likely not get the Fusion, but cards that support the OG.

Similarily Yubel will likely get Nightmare Pain, but not Phantom and Eternal.

i've never watched gx so i don't know what archetypes they use in that show but i did read the manga so i think they should add the new darklord cards to represent my goat midori hibiki

Honestly one of my old combos was to use Mask Dragon summoning effect to summon the Armed Dragon 3 after the battle phase so it can level up.

There are so many unknowns right now but I also cant wait to see what they do with the game. I saw goyo guardian is both errata'd and banned, and that they mentioned fossils as something that they were concerned was too good. So i guess the power level for the game is about the level of fossils.

The new magnets were pretty good in the tcg so I imagine those filling the grave with rocks for fossil fusion might actually be really strong.

I want the red eyes burst from duel links, slash dragon wouldn’t be bad, red eyes spirit, return of red eyes might be a little nuts but the the deck would probably be similar to the armed dragon level of power. It definitely wouldn’t be OP like lightswarms will be again. Cause judgement dragon ripped apart everything in TF3.

Armed Dragon does not suck in GX-era Yu-Gi-Oh. It's by no means a good competitive card, but it can be decent if you know how to use it.
Armed Dragon LV5 is not "the same thing" as LV3 - LV5 levels-up if it destroys an opponent's monster, unlike LV3 which has to survive until your Standby Phase.

I'm sorry, but you don't need new cards with 15-20 years of power creep to "make Armed Dragon good". I actually played a deck with Armed Dragon cards in WC 2006 for GBA years ago and managed to get through the whole game without much trouble. Basically, I started with the Dragon's Roar structure deck and modified it as I got new cards, culminating in a deck I called "Leveling Dragons", which focused on Armed Dragon and Horus LV monsters. You don't need to protect Armed Dragon LV3 for a whole turn if you summon it with Masked Dragon (or Flying Kamakiri) during the opponent's turn. And since the LV monsters send the old cards to the GY on level-up, they're basically loading up your GY for a Five-Headed Dragon summon using the Dragon's Mirror.

I'm guessing that this video is mostly in the interest of playing this online, but something about Tag Force 3 was that the game is actually pretty easy and you can win with almost anything. That said, some of this modern support could be helpful if you're trying to play on higher difficulties now that they've added difficulty options, and I also expect that these newer cards being added in will only be played by the CPU on those higher difficulties.

I think most of the modern cards are far too strong for a GX era format. The consistency boosters are probably fine, but the payoffs less so.

Armed dragons arent a joke, you dont have to wait a turn to use them, it feels as if you never used it, you can just summon lvl 5 attack then special summon lvl 7 then lvl 10 the next turn, heck you could even use level up and turn 3 into 5 the exact same turn or better yet use masked dragons to wait out opponents attacks then special summon 3 then your standby phase immediately level up, not trying to be mean but it felt a bit disingenuous hearing that
