I was typing this when you said the exact same thing - there are tons of decks going back many, many years made by real artists who create tarot art as ornamentation, with seemingly no understanding of symbolism or tarot. Many very popular decks fit in this category, too. When the image doesn't make sense, people just say stuff like "well this image is challenging, let me use my intuition." I think we're so used to that now, and accepting of it, that it makes AI takeover easier.

Since 2024 and going forward, I think we should only invest in a new tarot if we know how and by whom it was created. We have to be confident that the art is real and thoughtful.

Marilyn at tarot clarity got this deck and in her video she says she’s unsure about it but she found it read surprisingly well. It’s worth watching her video.

I recently bought this deck too and I thought this deck is a fashion. It was not mystical at all but maybe I like it as a fashion.

Can you please do a review of the Allcento tarot

Hi Robert, a great video ✨

I am highly suspicious since the advent of AI of any new deck that seems published too quickly to be true. Some are so finely detailed that an ordinary artist's hand or even a group of artists working together would have taken years to accomplish what is seen. There are some that have obvious visual flaws or flaws in understanding, and others that are 'too perfect' for my liking; almost too pretty. That hardly seems like something to complain about, but it does raise suspicions for me. I am trying to get beyond any personal objections about AI for whatever various reasons and look at each deck in terms of 'do the images resonate and work for me'? As I have no control over AI, nor certainty in verifying its use, ultimately it comes down to personal access for use as a tarot deck. Can I work with it? Will it read for me? Will I reach for it? Those are the important issues where I comfortably place my concerns right now. The legitimacy or ethical issues of AI will eventually sort themselves out. In the meantime, I am taking each deck one at a time at face value and weighing its value personally to me.

I own it and love it! However, since it appears you don't like it, I don't recommend you buy it. I don't believe it will be a good investment for you. I like it because it reminds me of my time at Interior Design School in the early '80's. I have the warm fuzzies for it, and it reads well for me. There are so many RWS based decks that lack much of the symbolism of the original RWS Tarot. This is not a new phenomenon. This deck would not be good for someone new to Tarot. It's great for me, though, because I have a good grasp of the RWS. This is a good deck for me to use for myself and for others. (For others, because it's stylish and not frightening for those who might be frightened by the more traditional imagery.)
I'd love to watch an interview with Federico Babina, where he explains his artistic process, whatever it may be.
I hope to God it's not AI. That will make me sad and hopefully won't wreck this deck for me.
My collection is almost complete. I'm going to try NOT to have counterfeits and AI decks going forward.

If you haven’t checked out the Lions Gateway tarot I implore you to… each piece is wood burned and painted panel

AI decks are very Emperor's new clothes. I hear people saying they are beautiful and 'good readers', or have amazing images. I just don't see what they see.

I have the same gut feeling with this deck. At a superficial level it seduces but when you look deeper something is off. I don’t think all contemporary decks are either AI generated or supported but a lot are nowadays. But we also have examples of extraordinary decks coming out l. Although few. My latest passion is the Mellow Schema Tarot which is a deeply crafty work of love. Spendy because it is an indie deck but completely worth it.

I own a copy , like it much as one example of the Tarot being used as a canvas/format to  :  1) Express artistic visual creativity  ,  2) Evoke the Subconscious ( in this case due to its minimalist abstract figures) like a Rorschach test may do.  😊

I love the deck ❤️ Not every card smashes it out of the park, that’s normal with any deck,  but the pros definitely outweigh the cons.  (I think the moon is playfully both a hand & a dog. A shadow puppet).  I don’t know about this deck and I do like disclosure, but I think we have to get more nuanced on AI. There’s a big difference between something created by the numbers as an economic exercise, and an artist using it to enhance, refine, and improve. A tool to take their concept to actuality.

Agreed. I don’t feel any “magic” here.

It gives brutalism of tarot 🤮

Honestly I was somewhat hoping you bought this deck and gave it a review. And I totally understand now your hesitation after watching the review by Hermit's Cave.
I loved some of the images at first glance.
I'll pass.

Save your money, this deck is not great! First glance yes it appears exciting, but dig deeper and it's pretty crap. Add to that super cheap cardstock and you have yourself one unusable deck!
