A little secret to keeping your plastic back window from getting scratched when you put the top down is slip a sheet of the thin 1/8 inch white packaging material in the fold of plastic . I know the sheets are often in boxes that have furniture you assemble but I’m sure there are other places to get them . Like your show , was in the car repair and building business myself for almost 40 years.

As both a vintage and new car owner I can say both classic and modern cars have their own fare share of perks. Maybe modern cars shouldn't be demonized that much, they actually run better (when new), but once they reach the end of that trouble-free 5-to-10-year streak their electronically-laden complexity renders them too difficult and cost-prohibitive to be restored.

I 🤔 too, at 59 yrs old, just learned about the Mopar Left hand lug nut thing ..Effing weird!!!!!

As usual you are right on with the bad initial designs. The early 60's were experimental times for cars. My '63 LeMans had opposite thread lugs nuts on one side of the car for the reason you stated (inertia was thought to tighten a lose lug nut with wheel travel). I say had because someone had had a Dodge 880 with that "feature", we quickly changed that before the studs were sheered off.

Love your channel so glad I found it. I grew up around all those issues. Here in Chicago I never understood not having a rear defogger standard like the passenger mirror should have been.

Very good information. The safety points are excellent and in my opinion need to be done to classics before anything is done. Driving a classic is kool but when you are driving the feeling is definitely a little sketch when it comes to safety. Theirs a lot of crazy drivers out there.

I been around muscle cars for over 4 decades, and didn't realize Mopar made a left hand lug nut! Crazy!!!! I can't imagine how many people have been stung by this one.

One technique to help mitigate scuffing damage to a plastic convertible window when folded is to carry an appropriately-sized towel and place it at the fold line as the top goes down. It's kind of a PITA, but you have to judge that inconvenience with having a longer usable lifespan for the window.

My T tops didn’t leak , BUT trying to keep my Pontiac Transam Cool in the summer Dallas heat is impossible . Only Ttop car I ever had, ever .

One trick for vinyl convertible tops is you never leave the top down over night. Even better, put it up as soon as you are done for the day. It will really help them last and keep looking good longer.
