Hello, I’m Mikhail.

This is the complete story of restoring an abandoned stone house hidden deep in the wilderness.

When I first discovered it, the house was slowly falling apart. The roof leaked, the windows were broken, the walls were damaged, and nature had begun to reclaim every corner of the building. Most people would have seen only ruins. I saw a place worth saving.

Over the course of an entire year, through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, I returned again and again to rebuild it with my own hands. I repaired the roof, restored the stone walls, installed new windows and doors, built a wood-burning stove from river stones, crafted a bed and a table, and slowly transformed the abandoned house into a warm off-grid home.

This film brings together every stage of that journey—from the first day I stepped inside the ruins to quiet winter nights beside the fire, with snow falling outside and complete silence surrounding the cabin.

This place taught me patience, simplicity, and the joy of creating something with my own hands.
