Josh wasn't just telling the story of their inter interaction with child fans, he was telling his whole story with Colleen. It's his story with her he has a right to say what happened to him too.
Jojo’s mentality is literally “I ate yesterday so world hunger doesn’t exist. I have money in my pocket so homelessness is solved. I’m not disabled so there’s probably no other people with illnesses, my ‘friend’ never made it clear that they were grooming me from a young age so they probably didn’t groom anyone else.” Lol
Colleen has done such a good job with her grooming, JoJo feels like the exception. She’s different. HER friendship with her is REAL. Trisha is right, Rose colored glasses.
I hope Trisha begins to realize that Josh speaking about being cheated on IS a part of the abuse he endured by Colleen. It IS a part of his story and it IS important.
On top of that, a lot of the stories he told Swoop validates the stories that survivors like Adam have stated. So it is not taking away the spotlight like Trisha thinks.
I disagree w Trisha saying that Josh shouldn’t have talked about the infidelity. I think the purpose of telling those things was to show how manipulative she could be and how deep he was in her web that things that would normally be bright red flags were easily disregarded. Just my 2 cents.
I'm a therapist, and I think we confuse 'friends' with friendliness. We can be friendly with someone without being friends due to the relationship already being defined within a power structure e.g. therapist/client, teacher/student, mentor/mentee doctor/patient. We can still be warm, friendly, kind with someone who we have a defined relationship with, without being 'friends'. I think more of us need to get this.
44:00 not going to lie I think Trisha was trying to shy away from Josh finally getting to set the record straight because she was one of those people that shamelessly attacked him back in the day when he initially tried to speak his truth.
I fully disagree with her here, Johnny turned the context of the story away from colleen to Josh, Josh had every right to tell his story, the whole story, to defend himself
I have a 5 year old daughter. I’ve been going through the hardest part of my life going through a divorce from her dad, and I’d never weaponize her. Children are innocent in all these. Don’t drag them into adult crap. I worry about those poor children daily
No hate to Trisha but you can tell she does not like Josh and is making up any excuse not to praise him or find problems in what he said. I didn’t really have an issue with a single thing he said in the interview. Very classy, he explained why he did things but did not use them as excuses. And his pain is valid, he never said it’s worse than the minors she groomed.
