Charlie Watts always said that the best Music The Rolling Stones made together was with Mick Taylor.

This is a massively under-appreciated channel, just as with most brilliantly-written, well-narrated, actual human content.

The Stones were never the same after Taylor, in my opinion.

A few years ago, The Stones played here in Adelaide, South Australia. I couldn’t afford a ticket but I went and stood in the crowd outside the stadium to listen. I had no idea The Stones had any guest artists on board, but when the solo for Midnight Rambler kicked in, I thought, “There’s no way Keef is playing that- that’s Mick Taylor!” Later I found out he was indeed on stage for that number. That’s how individual and recognisable his touch is.

I had the pleasure to meet Mick Taylor in December 1993 at a small bar on Washington Street in South Beach, Miami. His band
Was quietly playing a gig there that got very little attention in the local press. His playing was extraordinary;and at once, I realized the grandeur I had attributed to Keith Richards, belonged to Mick. I thanked him for the great evening add his virtuosity, offered him a drink, and he politely declined.

Mick and Keith never allowed someone better beside them and never gave them credit. As it happened to the troubled but brilliant Brian Jones so it happened to the great guitarist Mick Taylor who gave them their definitive sound. It's cruel and sad.

I invited Mick Taylor to play in our club in the late 90's where he played a blinding brilliant concert. Before the gig I had him on my radio show where during an hour long conversation Mick explained why he left the Stones: apart from the lifestyle it was essentially because he was robbed of his compositions like Time waits for noone, Sway, A Hundred years ago, etc for which he received no credit (and no money)😮
Mick Taylor was a fine gentleman and remains one of my favourite guitarist of all time.🎸🎸🎸

That melancholic 'Sway' is one of my favorite Rolling Stones tracks.

Mick Taylor was never actually homeless, though sensationalist tabloid press reports from 2009 falsely painted him as living in near poverty and a "ramshackle cottage" in Suffolk. His management quickly denied those claims, clarifying that he was financially secure. While Taylor did express frustration over historical royalties and a lack of proper credits for certain tracks recorded in the 1970s, it did not result in homelessness.

Best musician the Stones ever had.

His solo's on 'Time Waits For No One' STILL gives me goosebump chills to this day.

This man SHOULD and DESERVES writing credits that'd make him deservedly a wealthy man.

The Stones team need to make it 'write'.

The way he worked with Keef on Bitch is always overlooked. There was some gunslinging going on in that jam. That was the peak Rolling Stones era.

Can't You Hear Me Knockin' my all-time favorite Stones tune with Mick Taylor and Bobby Keys. I finally got to hear Mick play live in 2012.

I clearly remember reading that he joined the Stones as non smoking non drinking, macrobiotic vegetarian , and he ended up a heroin addict by the time he chose to leave because he felt he would be soon dead if he didn't leave.

So beautiful and so very sad. I hope you are well Mick. You were the best.

He sure brought one hell of a great guitar sound to that era of the stones.

After Mick Taylor left a never bought another record. He was 50% of the band. Like Brian we was a huge part!

Hard to imagine just how disorienting it would have been to step into that “job” in 1969….but out of the chaos we have some of the most beautiful guitar work in rock history

That was all Mick Taylor on "Can't you hear me knocking" from the Stones "Sticky Fingers" album in '71.

My friends and I worshipped Mick Taylor. Those late 60's and early 70's albums were the best the Stones ever made, in large part because of the contribution of people like Taylor and Nicky Hopkins. If Jagger/Richards had been more even handed, he never would have quit, and who knows what the subsequent albums could have become. So many missed opportunities. I hope he's found peace with the past.
