New York City doesn't pose. It moves.

For this trip, I brought my Leica M-D (Typ 262) and three small lenses: a Voigtländer 21mm f/4 Color-Skopar, Mandler 35mm f/2, and Summicron 50mm f/2.

No zoom. No giant setup. Just one camera, three focal lengths, and a city that gives you about half a second to make the picture before the moment disappears.

From Baltimore to Manhattan, I chased the light, rode the subway, crossed the harbor, photographed the Statue of Liberty, and wandered the streets looking for those little moments that make New York feel like New York.

Along the way, I kept switching between 21mm, 35mm, and 50mm.

And somehow, one lens kept finding its way back into my hand.

This isn't really a lens comparison. It's more about how different focal lengths change the way you see a city — and how limiting your choices can sometimes make you pay closer attention.

Three lenses. One body. No zoom. No excuses.

And yes… I picked a favorite.
