■ Every winter, the waters off Geomundo are filled with boats catching Spanish mackerel. This is because a Spanish mackerel fishing ground is formed. Thanks to this, Geomundo was once a very prosperous island. However, at some point, with the appearance of large trawler vessels, the Spanish mackerel catch in the waters off Geomundo decreased significantly. To make matters worse, Spanish mackerel prices have plummeted, deepening the worries of the fishermen. Yet, even amidst this sorrowful reality, there are fishermen who live their daily lives steadfastly and faithfully. We capture the winter stories of fishermen who have been protecting Geomundo for decades out of their love for Spanish mackerel.
