🤖🔥 The 10 Strongest G1 Autobots Ranked From Weakest To Strongest ⚡
The Autobots were built to defend Cybertron.
But some of them were on a completely different level.
From legendary warriors like Optimus Prime to raw powerhouses like Grimlock, Transformers G1 gave us Autobots capable of taking enormous punishment, overpowering elite Decepticons, and completely changing the course of a battle.
But who was actually the STRONGEST?
In this Explained & Ranked countdown, we’re ranking 10 of the strongest G1 Autobots from weakest to strongest, based on raw power, durability, weapons, combat ability, intelligence, and their greatest feats.
đź’Ş Autobots with ridiculous physical strength
đź’Ą Warriors carrying some of the most powerful weapons in G1
⚔️ Fighters capable of standing against Megatron and elite Decepticons
🦖 Why the Dinobots deserve to be taken seriously in any power ranking
🧠Autobots whose intelligence made them even more dangerous
🔥 Characters whose true strength is often underestimated
🏆 And the Autobot who deserves the #1 spot as the strongest of them all
But strength in Transformers isn’t only about who can lift the most.
Firepower matters.
Durability matters.
Battle experience matters.
And some Autobots could survive situations that would completely destroy weaker Transformers.
That’s what makes this ranking so difficult.
We’ll compare the biggest moments from Transformers G1 and The Transformers: The Movie, break down the abilities of each character, and move from #10 all the way to the most powerful Autobot on the list.
So where do characters like Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Ultra Magnus, Springer, and the other G1 heavy hitters actually rank?
And can anyone take the #1 spot away from the obvious favorites?

Now with Return of Optimus Prime, there is nothing that suggests that Rodimus couldn't have opened the Matrix a 2nd time. The fact is neither Optimus nor Rodimus knew the Matrix could cure the hate plague. The difference is Optimus got time to dive into the Matrix (a lot easier than Rodimus) and find that it could.
Really these episodes exposes a different issue. Take the Matrix away from Rodimus and you have Hot Rod. Take the Matrix away from Optimus and you still have Optimus not Orion Pax. I would also point out that after Optimus' 2nd rebuild he was referred to as the Invincible Optimus Prime. As much as I like Rodimus the stronger bot is Optimus.
9 Grimlock
8 Jetfire
7 Omega Supreme
6 Defensor
5 Computron
4 Superion
3 Skylinx
2 Metroplex
1 Forthess Maximus
Honorable mention: Broadside and Ultra Magnus
grandus might not be considered g1 though 🤔
