State Of Decay is a great Halloween Who

The jazz musician at the beginning is Courtney Pine, one of Britain's best.

Image of the Fendahl is what I would choose for a Halloween watch

Horror of Fang Rock is always a good go to for Halloween for me.

The start of this jumps around locations like part one of a Moffat finale.

The body horror of Seeds of Doom.

Even though Silver Nemesis is the official Doctor Who 25th Anniversary Story, most of the fandom prefer Remembrance Of The Daleks as the 25th Anniversary Story since it started the Season & connected to the 1st Episode of Season 1 The Unearthly Child.

That choker with the "blood" is incredible. It's actually very beautiful as well as gruesome.

In the castle scenes Nicholas Courtney aka the Brig, makes a brief appearance as a tourist getting a tour of the castle. This was the 25th anniversary story hence the Cybermen and title Silver Nemesis

7:47 I was hoping she'd notice the Fez and Mop. It was probably too much to ask for. 😅

This was actually the official 25th anniversary story, but despite the Cybermens' snazzy paint job, it's near-universally agreed that Remembrance Of The Daleks, which this copies a lot of plot beats from, is far superior both as an overall story and as a celebration of the show's history. Part of me wishes that this had instead been a multi-Doctor adventure seeing the 7th and 3rd Doctor team up. After all, Jon Pertwee was still alive and would be another eight years, he was a great ambassador for the show and likely would've been up for it, by all accounts he and Sylv had a great rapport and got along famously, it would've suited the milestone, and it would've been another chance for Three to face the Cybermen which he never did in his own era. I can see why, and in a way am glad, it didn't happen as the show was trying to reinvent itself, rely less on nostalgia, and there's so few precious Seven adventures we don't need him sharing the spotlight with another Doctor, but maybe if the show hadn't been cancelled, this teamup could have emerged. The only drawback is that the sheer power of those combined Doctors and Ace would have ended the episode in about two seconds.

Silver Nemesis isn’t a story I particularly love, but Lady Peinforte is one of the most entertaining villains Classic Who gave us.

The Dr/Ace chilling  to jazz and then the Cybermen hear it and just look at each other like ".....WTF??" mate that's exactly how I feel every time I hear jazz music! And btw these Cybermen standing in the shadowed room with lamplight glinting off their polished steel casing probably one of my fav Cybermen outfits

Fun Fact: the actor playing the mathematician working out the comet's orbit for Lady Peinforte was initially approached to play the Doctor, before William Hartnell was cast.

I would say the most Halloween story from classic who has to Horror on Fang Rock. It has all the spooky vibes.

Yes it is the same Fez.

Fiona Walker, who plays Lady Peinforte, also appears in The Keys of Marinus, opposite William Hartnell. The VHS release of Silver Nemesis had a making of documentary as well.

Today I actually watched Brain of Morbius as a Halloween treat  although any story from that season would be a good choice.
I'm not going to do any spoilers, but there's a couple of stories in the next Sylvester McCoy season that would have been a perfect Halloween viewing too 🎃🤗

Silver Nemesis is over-the-top and definitely all over the shop, but the action sequences are terrific, there's some wonderfully bad jokes, a superb nutjob villain in Lady Peinforte, and some fun moments throughout. The Cybermen's reaction to jazz will always be iconic.

Like "The Happiness Patrol", this story suffered from massive cuts due to timing reasons. When "Silver Nemesis" was released on VHS, the deleted footage had been restored. This adventure was originally meant to be broadcast as the season finale, but it switched places in the schedule with the next serial due to producer John Nathan-Turner wanting the first episode to air on the anniversary date of November 23rd, 1988.

My Halloween go-to stories would be "The Dæmons", "The Stones of Blood", "State of Decay", "The Curse of Fenric".
