Sadly the Garden Veteran Senescent Tree is being Removed by the Major Heatwave that the Bees Live In

Gardening in chair garden with our beautiful pepper tree for shade has been great, but parts are falling away. The tree is the bee tree, home to the Cooper Hawks that raised many chicks over the years. The Southern California historic heat wave has done a toll too many plants and more this year.

I live in a forest in Northern California. Every summer trees fall over during heat waves. I can hear them cracking at night - it's scary because you never know if it will hit the house.

Never a dull moment for you guys. Gary’s not a day over 24! He knows what he’s doing. You’ll have that area spruced up in no time. Loving the wildlife and nature you take care of. Thanks. God Bless you both R&G ❤❤

Thankful no one was injured. ❤❤❤❤❤

Gary stays very active and eats natural food. Helps him stay flexible and young!

Oh Robbie, I'm so sad to hear about the damage to the tree. I hope the tree will continue to live, even as it loses pieces.

Please take good care, as I would rather not hear about you on News at 11! The same for Gary. These stubborn guys can't see that time has progressed.

We finally had to take the ladder from my 89 year old dad, (we "borrowed" it), when we discovered he'd been on the roof.

Sorry about your lovely old tree. At least it did not come down on your house or injure any one.

My father use to say Mother Nature trims itself. I hated that saying when I lost the beautiful beautiful maple my husband, now deceased, planted when we moved here 😢
Tornado 🌪 or straight line wind chopped it right off.

I'm glad you and Gary and your dogs and other animals are ok!
I got nervous when you went near the tree

@NatKekuna2012 17 hours ago

Well you’ve got all kinds of excitement going on your property!😮

I have a really old saguaro growing in the corner of my yard near the street that loses huge arms from time to time. The electric company had been out twice to trim it. They wanted to take it down but I talked them out of it so they basically cut it in half. The birds have many nests in the holes they made in it! I call it THE OLD MAN SAGUARO And I believe it isn't it's time to go. There are no buildings or cars near it so it only hurt my chain link fence and we fixed it. It isn't at all pretty but its age alone makes me feel like it needs to stay. I am happy you didn't behave any real damage to your property when it fell! Happy you are all safe!

Oh, how sad. I hate when trees fall down.

I have experience in northern California with large oaks trees. They pull up water which make the liams heavier in the hot weather. Don't add more water it will brakes down the tree faster. Good luck 😢 sorry for your tree, it is a very beautiful tree. From Robin in Sacramento Valley

I see those style chairs at the roadside for free and trash pick up all the time and they aren't broken.

@vickyhamele2750 20 hours ago

😢😢im so sorry

Time to get an arborist in to assess your tree. It may be time to have it removed for safety and a new one planted.

This happened to us a well. A big branch cane down in our backyard. Nobody got hurt.

Hi Robbie Gary and Zoe

@KarenBowers4 13 hours ago

The sound on the video of the tree crashing was really loud. Hopefully it will give tree another 50 years.

Widowmakers! Taking the tree out is better than waiting before another limb falls on someone or until the whole thing falls and takes part of the hillside with it.
