The CX-5, a great family SUV but next time I would want to see some Mazda charmness in driving some buttons, THATS WHAT MADE MAZDA SPECIAL!
We need buttons not screens and thats why I chose my family the new Honda HR-V!

I do hope that the next generation of the Mazda 3 will not have touch screen tech. In my opinion, lack of dials and knobs and those big screens makes a car interior look less classy.

This car looks nice and I like the space but the dash has lost character over the previous which brings me to my rant...I don't want to drive a desk, I don't want a massive ipad that'll cost a few grand when it goes wrong, no screen full of fingerprints. I want switches and dials I can feel without looking, I want my eyes on the road where they should be and not doing something as bad as browsing my phone and putting a smiley winkey face to someones comment on whatever social media.

Now had my CX5 for 8 years from new and it’s been brilliant. It is a pleasure to drive and a great space to be. Not put a foot wrong in 67k miles. Interior is incredibly comfortable with a great specification. The 2L petrol is a smooth drive but only criticism is the lack of torque. I’m sticking with my rotary dial, buttons and CD player!

Once I found out the new 2026 CX5 model was losing its buttons I decided to buy a new 2025 model so I would have the buttons. I got an amazing deal too as they wanted to shift the old stock 👍

I do like the look of the facelift CX5 - but something that big and heavy needs more power.    The full-hybrid might be a game-changer for the car, but it's very late to the party (though you could say the same of VW when it comes to FHEVs).

They should if kept the dials an buttons for fans an climate and for the screen, I hoping to get a Mazda  next year but if it's a cx5 will go for the last model , Mazda's look amazing, I  would have the Mazda 3 or cx30 or cx5, they all look nice, but I seem to be veering towards getting a cx30 I think be best choice for me 👌👍 great review tish, love the colour of that Mazda and interior lovely too, just a shame the physical buttons an knobs are gone an have to use touchscreen now 🫣

Gap insurance also works well if you contract hire  as it covers your upfront deposit which can add up as for the car I've always liked a mazda

I've watched a few of your car reviews and the only thing i can complain about is, you spend too much time looking at the camera whilst driving instead of the road. Keep up the good wodk though.

What you are witnessing is the end of what made Mazda's cars special. Or more importantly, what Mazda told you made their cars special. Mazda is incredibly good at selling themselves using some words that explain away their shortcomings , but not actually delivering. They will tell you that you don't need power because the steering is nicely weighted. You don't need a quiet cabin because the indicators feel expensive. Misdirection, the likes of which a magician would be proud. Spend enough time with a Mazda and all of that starts to fall away eventually and you are left with a vehicle that either works for you or it doesn't. I am at the point where I am in the latter category. I've owned two 6's and they have given me good service, but the second one has put me off the brand and I won't be buying another. It has not been unreliable by any means, but it represents the hypocrisy that is now so openly on display with this current CX5. In my case, the seats in my car are leatherette and at less than 30,000 miles the driver's seat had started to delaminate. It looks as if they took the fabric seats and sprayed them with rubber and called it leatherette. Yet, Mazda claims that this is normal wear and tear and refuses to fix it. At less than 25,000 miles the drive belt tensioner had already started to fail, but they are willing to go 50-50 on that one with me. Not gonna happen. I've decided to not get caught up in brand loyalty and will be moving along. Many will move on because of this travesty of an infotainment system, and they will be right to do so. Do not pander to their gibberish. Hold them accountable when they do not stay true to their word and stand by their products. Good bye, Mazda.
