Full video: Most Powerful Mafia Bosses Of All Time Ran...

Brought to you by: Michael Franzese Wines

Who was the greatest boss in the history of Cosa Nostra? Michael Franzese sits down to officially rank 25 of the most prominent, powerful, and notorious mafia figures in American history.

Instead of a standard 1-to-25 list, Michael breaks these heavyweights down into five distinct categories: The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), The Big-Timers, The Power Players, The Contenders, and The Showoffs.

Watch as Michael breaks down the real history behind the Golden Era of the mob, explaining why Lucky Luciano and Carlo Gambino earned GOAT status, why Frank Costello was the smartest boss of them all, and his honest, unfiltered thoughts on high-profile figures like John Gotti, Al Capone, and Joey Massino. Finally, Michael shares his controversial theory on who was really behind the assassination of his former boss, Joe Colombo.

As a Chicagoan, props for moving Accardo up to GOAT. Capone is clearly the poster child of the outfit. But as well-deserved as it is, Accardo was so next level.

This former Capo is just super interesting. Really fascinating commentator. Blunt and honest with his opinions from an inside perspective. 👁️

Great list, Micheal.
You gave every Boss fair consideration for each category.
You can't argue with it one bit.

Michael i love these mob ranking uploads, they are always so interesting and i love to hear your opinion. I would love to see you do a Columbo Family exclusive ranking list. All the Columbo family major players who were active during your era in the life...

I sat thru the food recipes last night. Meatballs, chicken Parm, and simple pasta. Thank you. My meatballs were always crappy from the bread crumbs. I appreciate the tip.
But, I really appreciate sharing your values and beliefs. You guys were Italian Mafia. My dad was white biker Vietnam veteran that ran with the Mexican Mafia. The Italians were professionals. We were just rowdy partiers. But, it's the same life more or less. Just like you, my grandparents were upstanding citizens and respected for being good people. My dad went into the drug life and party scene. I was the third generation and had the choice. My dad walked me into the criminal life. So, that's how I started out. But, it was my grandparents influence that got me out of that life. Life can be hard sometimes. It's easy to go the shortcut route. It takes a lot of courage and strength to stay the course and take it on the chin like Job in the bible.
Anyways, thank you for sharing your family's recipes. I enjoy good food. I'm surprised your wife never told you about the Mexican tradition of eating tamales on Christmas Eve or black eyed peas on new years eve for good luck. We lived a similar life. Glad you're doing well and found a way to make money legit. A lot of us never did and wind up right back in prison. Salute

Tommy Lucchese is a GOAT, he took over Frank Costello’s political ties when Costello retired and ran The Lucchese Family at his peak, who actually made the most money per member, all throughout the 60’s.

Great video Michael! Thank you for making the great content that you have been for years and years. You have mentioned in the recent past that you have some new information about Carmine Persico that has caused you to lose some respect for him. I believe you stated it has something to do with Greg Scarpa. Can you PLEASE release a video speaking on this? I believe it would be very interesting to the audience to hear what all you have discovered. Thank you again and God Bless you and your Family!

Love your show, Michael! Mafia stories always get my attention. Your real life commentary on these figures brings a level of legitimacy and inside look that keeps my attention. Love what you do….I might just have to try your wine if it’s as good as you say! 😊

What about Angelo Bruno? Two decades as the Philly boss.

@scottfeuerhammer3595 5 months ago

Mike, the Lucchese family was originally the Gagliano crime family. Tommy Gagliano was the original boss of that family. Lucchese was the second boss and named it after himself. As, others did, like Gambino, Genovese and Colombo.

Michael, thanks for doing these ratings. They're a lot of fun. Again though, you totally overlook the Detroit Partnership. It was one of the most respected and powerful families in the country. They weren't flashy but wielded influence. Anthony Zerilli ruled the family for over 40 years, never going to jail. He died of natural causes in his home. Please take a look at the Detroit Partnership for future episodes.
