I can't quite name what it is, but your overall presence is extremely calming

My favourite hobby is trying to learn about anime style background art, but its so niche there's never any videos about it. So cool to see somebody upload a video of their process. I hope to see many more videos like this!!

Whenever i watch your videos, i instantly have the urge to draw. Theres something so special about how you draw, speak, and edit your videos. Your words resonate so much with me and your art is always wonderful. Thank you :)

The ART :

I completely relate to what you're saying! As a traditional artist (watercolor is my main medium), when I transitioned to digital art, I realized how many gaps I had in my knowledge. Now, when I'm capable of matte painting, I find I simply don't want to polish an image to perfection. I get much more satisfaction from capturing the core idea, atmosphere, mood and shapes - and leaving it at that. Any rendering beyond that point feels forced. I used to really beat myself up about this, thinking I was just being lazy when I saw other artists creating these perfectly rendered pieces while mine stayed at the sketch stage. But realizing you feel similarly is incredibly validating. Thank you!

Your personal work resonates so much with me! The moment I saw the thumbnail I instantly think "This is gold, I need to see how it's done".
Congrats man, this simple videos are also wonderful to watch

As someone who's just beginning their drawing journey - at the age of 42 - this is wonderfully inspiring. Thank you

The internet is a funny place. I just started transitioning from traditional to digital on Procreate this week and ironically my recommendations brought me this video. I always wondered how people were able to paint such wonderful pieces without feeling it physically. I'm still getting used to painting on my iPad and I've got so much to learn. But it's fun to experiment and reach outside of my comfort zone.

great work & great words! thank you for sharing :)

Right before you said "it's hard to articulate" I was nodding along like "oh man I know EXACTLY what he's talking about". That's why I have a hard time using references, too, cause I know there's a look I want for my image but I don't really know what it is or exactly how to get there until I see it. Anyway, you're def one of the most inspiring dudes and I ALWAYS wanna draw more and do better after watching your videos so thanks for what you do, my friend

when i first came across this piece on Artstation, i was so intrigued and now im so glad you posted this. I had taken a huge hiatus from my art ever since i got my first job and i had let go off my creative pursuits in order to sustain my 9-5. Seeing this specific painting, got me back to art and im so grateful. And now i wont give up. Thank you.

Your voice is extremely soothing!! I actually watched the whole video!!

“Focus on artist you admire” he says as he becomes an artist I admire.
I’ve been a worldbuilder since…well since I could remember. And today someone really gave me a wake-up call and showed me that I really ought to be drawing for my worlds—not just because it’s helpful but because I want to. I see so many people doing their process and so many say “it’s hard” but I know deep down there’s some part of a drawing process that can be relaxing—imma find it and enter the cycle like everyone else😂
I see that I will be coming back to you quite often.

'I dont want what I need to do for the industry to influence my personal art." - Very wise words.

Beautiful painting and wonderful process video 💜

are u ok? you look so sad. send you hugs ✨

This is so soothing.

i love how you interpret a ref into your own spin, you remove just enough detail to make it actually more interesting and fun to look at

This is not just a speed painting vedio. This artist conveys a very important message to everyone who paints. Thank you for sharing this on YouTube so that everyone can see it:hand-pink-waving:
