I've got a Toyota iQ, a little one litre, three cylinder petrol engine with 47,500 miles on the clock, and a Smart ForTwo diesel, a couple of years newer with 183,500 miles on the clock, both cars regularly go up and down the motorway, I use the Smart mostly as the Smart achieves an average of 80 miles per gallon as opposed to 55 miles per gallon in the Toyota, both cars are absolutely brilliant, ideal for a single person who rarely carries passengers, using the car to get back and forth to work, the Toyota was always going to be the second car as it's petrol, manual and lacks cruise control, but as far as small cars for single people goes, they will do motorway mileage with ease, maybe a bit noisy, the Toyota suspension is far superior to the Smart, as is the turning circle, both have their pros and cons but I can safely say that Toyota is a reliable car

What about the Avensis saloon?

Got 2005 d4d yaris  live in spain. Just returned from 5700km Riad trip...drove faultlessly 77mpg...had the car years. What more do l need

Too low for old people simples
