Hey everyone, thank you so much for checking out today's video where we'll be discussing why Jotaro Kujo, throughout the entire series of JoJos Bizarre Adventure, never increased his time stop above his maximum of 5 seconds. Whereas a character like Dio, who holds a stand of the same type, reached 9 seconds! I hope you guys enjoy! and be sure to like and subscribe if you want to see more content :D

Idk if this helps but DIO has the life enegry of 2 hamon users and a vampire

@izumi2165 1 year ago

it's most definitely because of dio being a vampire. since he doesn't get as hurt from damage to his body, he can just spam it as if he were perfectly fine, which means jotaro after the coma would not be strong enough

People forget that jotaro is just a human

The real answer is becuase araki doesn't want to reintroduce Jotaro and then have him one shot all the villains with him having a 20+ second time stop, it would make a really boring story. (Imagine if Jotaro have a 20+ second time stop against pucci or even kira, the fight would barely even be a fight). Thus araki added restrictions or in lore reasons such as Jotaro not practicing it and etc. But the real answer is it makes the story more interesting and gives the other characters room to shine.

Joseph: Jotaro have you been practicing your timestop everyday?

Idk

If I remember right, Pucci's time acceleration was very strong and affected the duration of time stop, not that Jotaro spamming it decreased the duration.

The only reason Jotaro's timestop shorten during the Finale of part 6 was because of Pucci's Time Acceleration, it's not technically reduced but the the time is accelerating to the point of his time stop feels like it's gotten short. Plus I remember the reason Jotaro couldn't extend his timestop was because it's physically impossible and human limitation, Dio being a vampire makes sense cuz he has beyond human capabilities😊

1:30 um hello? Jotaro part 6's time stop was increased to 5 seconds but it only slowed down not because he was spaming time stop, pucci's time acceleration made it the timestop duration shrink.

Would him learning Hamon be an alternative path instead of using the mask. Since in the earlier episodes it says that Hamon and vampires are a part of the two sides of the same coin.

Jotaro’s Stand Stat in part 6 states that Star Platinum’s growth potential is complete so even if Jotaro trained he couldn’t increase his time stop? Even tho Jotaro and DIO have same type of stand, they don’t have the same stand.

@thecapicorn4659 10 months ago

I thought his time stop was shortened not because he was taxed, but because puccis made in heaven was effecting jotaros perception of time, it was less so that it was shortened and more that jotaros perception of time was being increased due to the acceleration of mih, making the time stop seem shorter. I always assumed that jotaro could increase his time stop and probably do it longer than 5 seconds but it just takes longer for a human to do it, as it’s more taxing.

i always wondered why Joseph didn’t teach the stardust crusaders about Hamon. I know they were on a time crunch, but I bet somewhere along the way he could’ve at least explained what it was and maybe how to unlock its usage (like how Zeppeli forced his Hamon into Johnathan when they first met). It could’ve given them such a big advantage against DIO.

Dio and jotaro stopped time for 11 and 5 seconds respectively in the road roller scene, with an overlap of 3 seconds between the two. Dio took 9 seconds to get the road roller, they punched for 3 seconds, Dio froze at 11 seconds, and jotaro use the remaining 2 seconds to mess with Dio and break his legs.

Jotaro didn't really want to fight, he did it because he had to. He is basically like Gohan from Dragon Ball, biggest fighting potential but interviewing dolphins is a lot more fun for him

@Not_Ever_Human 10 months ago

I'm pretty sure jotaro just doesn't give enough of a shit to care about practicing

@ryuzakikun96 10 months ago

I always thought the reason his time stops were becoming shorter in part 6 was because of Pucci's increasing adeptness with using MiH.

Spoiler territory for the manga parts:

Another point that confirms that humans can only stop time up to 5 seconds is AU Diego also being able to stop time about this same duration, thus confirming DIO boosted his ability with his vampirism
