Nice houses over there

I grew up on Marsh Lane in the 70s/80s. Left home in 1988 when i was 16.

It a drung den for the shops to I'd money 👍

My mother(1926-2019) Moved from Solihull in 1938 to Small Heath then  after the war she moved to a Prefab given by the government of the day for people who were bombed out in Yardley

Up till my mom met my dad (1929-2002) she lived in Yardley

During the late 40’s and 50’s my Mom with her friends she met WOULD WALK from YARDLEY to ERDINGTON for what was on the HIGH STREET
WALKED back to Yardley

High end clothes shops
High end shoe shops
Hairdressers

After my Mom and Dad married in September bought a house in Erdington in 1964

I still live in the family home
I remember as a kid growing up I would walk to Erdington and spend ALL my pocket money in WOOLWORTHS
Wilton Market
It had a dolls hospital
I think Ken Dodd opened it
I was around 6/7
