Domrei is not even a bad word. In Cambodia, we have the Domrei God. If you're not around Khmer people that long, you won't understand how they are. If you can speak and understand, maybe you can understand better. 🙏♥️🌺🌺🌺

If Cambodian people look at u a lot they not mean racism. They are friendly and kindness if u ask them something they are happy to tell you ❤️❤️

I’m Khmer , my skin is nearly the same like you but there are ethnic groups from Chinese, from Vietnam always discriminate our Khmer to be lower level than them , longtime ago we can live with each other… because skin isn’t bad if we have knowledge, good caractère, good morals

The message that Kofi gave to the young generation of Cambodia (it's hit different)... I saw many people in Cambodia didn't gain recognition about design/photography/art etc.. Despite these challenges, the recognition of design, photography, and art is slowly increasing. The rise of digital platforms, growing exposure to global trends, and the efforts of young Cambodian artists and designers are helping to shift perspectives, it’s likely that the recognition of creative fields will continue to improve. I hope that young Cambodian not put themself in the basket... find more opportunities, Learning to appreciate your own works..

I just visited Cambodia last week.  I found Cambodians to be kind, warm, respectful people.  But colorism is definitely an issue.  One of our tour guides literally said, "we like the white skin, we don't like the tan" when a pale "bleached" looking woman rode by on a bike.  I thought the Cambodian people were beautiful but this preference for paleness was disappointing.

my dad and brothers calls me domrei…..because im strong for a female (according them). khmer language has more than one layer so, sometimes it’s not easily understood for foreigners. it’s like japanese, there are like three layers of speaking and foreigners are completely clueless most the time.

The stereotype will eventually fade away little by little. That needs time.
