Holy shit.......Gyro's character is just....SO PEAK

one of my favorite things about steel ball run is how awful a lot of the characters are as people, which makes the kinder ones stand out more. it helps us get to know and understand both Gyro and Lucy, and their kindness surrounded by other characters make them so compelling

Gyro is the main character and Johnny is a protagonist. Its a great trope and I think it should be done more

This legend lived selfishly for others

im glad you did your research on the kingdom of naples and ill explain further. the kingdom of naples did exist but it was different from the kingdom of naples in jojo. the biggest difference is that in real life the kingdom of naples did not exist in 1890-1891. it officialy ceased to exist in 1816 by unifying with the kingdom of sicily (thus becoming the kingdom of the two sicilies) and by 1860 all of italy had been unified as a singular state. also in jojo the kingdom of naples' geography is very different, as the kingdom is much smaller . also in jojo its politics are very different. in jojo it is a puppet kingdom of the vatican but in real life the two were distincts states. (they did have many relations though, usually friends but at times going to war)

While reading sbr I remembered when zepelli said in part 1 that all zepelli and fated to die young so I knew it was gonna happen but the closer it got to the ending the more drastic a death I knew it was gonna be and then it hit LIKE I WAS NOT READY FOR THAT I WAS HOPING HE'D BE THE FIRST ZEPELLI TO SURVIVE

The entire time I was reading steel ball run, I always thought Gyro was the best character in the entirety of Jojos

"Gyro wants to help people"

Gyro later to Lucy: fuck that, you're gonna steal from the president, you might get killed, i don't care

no bucciarati at 25:45, im gonna fucking riot

If you ever read Buso Poker, Araki’s early western manga, Gyro is like a full circle realization of the main character. You could tell he really loves cowboys.

Okay, this is the last upload I really apologize but King Crimson... aka youtube.... took down the video twice... All should be well,I apologize about the notifications and will be more careful on what music I choose next time 😔

I was really hoping with the new reset and the golden ratio and the influence of the holy corpse that this one Zepelli at least would have been able to avoid death.

my desert, my Arakis, mu Dune

Gyro is an amazing character and by far one of the best out of the entire jojo series. This was a great video love seeing anyone analysis characters in jojo especially parts 7 and 8. One of my other favorite characters in the series is yasuho I would like to see you analyze her character also. Gyros death is sad but it’s also perfect as his ending.

Gyro~ Gyro~ Gyro Zeppeli🗣️🔥🔥

8:08 I really enjoyed this overview on Gyro's character, but I think there was a concept you glossed over that was very pivitol in his arc and I think its the reason you don't like Ringo as much as so many people. I'm not trying to be mean spirited, just hope this will make you appreciate Gyro, Ringo, and Steel Ball Run a bit more. I won't go super in depth, but I recommend watching Meti's video on Gyro as a character, Ringo, and the True Mans World. I too didnt get the Ringo hype, but after he showed he the significance of Ringo, I joined right with everyone else on the glazefest. Each of those three videos will only take around 10 minutes of your time, but they'll explain better than what I try to convey here.

True Mans World
Gyro character arc picks up when Johnny informs Gyro on how he is fundamentally missing a selfish desire to pursue a goal that has to do with himself. Throughout the whole series, he simply inherits things like the steel balls and ability to grant amnesty to Marco. Gyro has this idea challenged soon after when Ringo exposes his weaknesses once again and how Gyro only attacks in self defense or in reaction, rather than with initiative. Ringo's idea of a true man is someone who rejects society's values to puruse your own path in life, which Ringo achieves through his duels. In summary, the TMW is true freedom to follow the path of light(as Ringo describes it) and rise to a divine state of being or becoming the "Ubermensch." Gyro, despite being rebllious still followed his father and his family's footsteps, and never pursued a path just for himself. However, after potentially losing his friend, he redefined his journey into a path of growth and understanding of himself. He says he needs to undergo the Steel Ball Run race to puruse that path. With that newfound purpose, he beats Ringo and the man welcomws Gyro into the TMW.

Gyro's Journey in SBR until D4C
We see directly after this arc Gyro struggles with the pursuing the path of light of the TMW, but still gets rewarded by actibely finding his unieue path to horse racing by outwitting Diego and beating Blackmore. It isn't empasized as much later on, but its because that took a backseat the Johnny and his dveleopment. However, the fact Gyro steals back his mentor role instead of Johnny guiding Gyro trying to follow the TMW path by teaching Johnny the Golden ratio, represents his agency, as now Gyro is on the path he needs to be. We see the fruits of his labor through his increasingly unique ways of utilizing his spin, the most insane one being when he creates a lens of air to make it nearly impossible for Choclate disco to locate Gyro.

D4C and Ringo
The final fight of D4C is the perfect conlusion of Gyro's character partly because it's Gyro final duel that directly mirrors his one his Ringo. This battle represents Gyro's growth and the culmination of his character. Notice how Valentine says the first on eto make a bad move loses, like Gyro says to Ringo. Notice how Gyro only has SINGLE Steel Ball, showing how this is very much a duel where if Gyro made a bad move, he would undoubtedly be in trouble. Notice how D4C Love Train is a LITERAL PATH OF LIGHT. It was crazy when I realized this, but D4C represents the wall Gyro had to overcome to truly reach his next state of being, by overcoming the path of light. Thanks to the experience of the race, Gyro has an idea on utilizing the horse for the spin of his steel balls. This represents how he needed his father's teaching by using the the steel balls and using the Horse representing the SBR race helping him understand how to ascend to the "Ubermensch status" through the power of the golden spin. This ability symbolzes his perosnal goal of understanding being complete as the golden spin is not only an ability to other zepelli has ever done before(meaning he found his own path to life), but is the only thing capable of smashing through D4C dimensional barrier, or the path of light. That why his acquiring of Ball breaker is so significant and it's whay his character was building up to this entire time

Gyro's Final duel
His duel starts with him throwing his steel ball at Valentine once, then at his clone once. It should be noted, before Gyro got the clone, it got a shot of its gun on Gyro once. This signifies the end of Round 1 of their duel. When Valentine remerges after being aged considerably, Gyro shoots again, and so does valentine land a single blow as well. This is the second round of their duel, and Gyro loses. He lost because of Lucy's light messing with his rotation and because in the end he stuck to his code of not letting innocent people dying for no reason and refusing to heal himself by getting into Valentine's light thay would redirect Gyro's misfortunate wound nearing his heart. So just like the duel with Ringo there were two rounds with each one a single attack was exchanged just like with Ringo, and both Gyro and Ringo lose due to a miscalculation. However, just like Ringo, before his death, Gyro tells Johnny lesson five, which meant to find his own path to achieving the golden rotation, just like how Ringo told Gyro before his death to pursue the TMW. This is the beauty of Ringo and his impact, as well as Gyro's character arc.

Conclusion
Hopefully this convinced you on why Ringo is one of Araki's absolute best characters. Gyro's arc is very subtle, but when you look at some of the details, it really is a reward finding these revelations about his character. I still urge you to watch Meti not the bad guy's three videos on Ringo, Gyro, and TMW because they say all what I said very effectively very poetically.

Gyro mah 🐐 ( literally changed my perspective to za world)

The manga already convinced me🥹

Steel Ball Run has an unintentionally accurate depiction of the US, and that was written in 2007! Ps I love this video

25:45 this song from django gave me goosebumps
