who else loves WWW videos and wants to see more carbine content?!!!  check out that M44 pack whewww😏

The M1 Carbine is the weapon my grandfather used in the Korean War. He was a USAF ground support special reconnaissance radio operator and Willys jeep driver. He would radio in enemy positions from behind enemy lines to strike aircraft like the P-51 Mustang to attack the enemy. Anyways great video and I love your content! Keep up the great work! 👍🫡🪖

22:27 Drip spin is in fact appreciated

I have my Uncle’s bring back along with a 600rd spam can of ammo, 15 original magazines, and original canvas case. He carried it in the Pacific. Excellent shooter.

My grandfather was a .30 cal gunner for a tank destroyer unit.  He was issued a m1 carbine

Im a Korean War reenactor so it's interesting to see what changed on the M1 Carbine from its original configuration. The M2 carbine is my favorite variant but it's super expensive

My late father, 1 Lt. Ord WW2 actually mailed home pieces of the M-2 (full auto) carbine. His step son stole it.

noticed you also went ahead and got a tan sling as well

In my experience usgi carbine mags definitely work better than reproductions

I have spent almost two decades in the army and though I thought I knew something about WWII weaponry, I learned a tremendous amount from this video. Keep up the great work.

My uncle was the CO of a Quartermaster Truck company in the 3rd Army.  He and his drivers carried M1 Carbines from Normandy to the end of the war in southern Germany. He didn’t bring one home but I did get to wear his winter jacket as a kid.😊

Be advised, if something was damaged in service, at / near the front, the Unit Armorer would replace the part.
I understand the updated adjustable rear sights could often be found by the Fall of '44.  The High Wood was fragile and often cracked. Armorers would cut that off if it was damaged. Early "flat" bolts had cracking problems so an "in service" repaired carbine "could" have a round bolt as a replacement.
I have the Type 1 stock on my 6/43 NPM with the "I" cut for the oiler and sling.  The high wood is gone.

Dad was a replacement in January 1945 in Belgium. He was issued a Garand but he had a radio operator MOS and ended up in an HQ company. So then he carried a Garand and a radio. He was able to go to the medics station and swap his Garand for a carbine some soldier no longer needed. He much preferred the carbine.

I have two flat-faced slides that I would gladly trade for angled ones.

16:46 bro was on the verge of crying

Loved ww2 movies as a kid,but this guy looks more like the average soldier than those 40 year old actors did.

Cool carbine

Lookin smart there, Son - Have Fun at the Re-enactment.

I encourage you to shoot your Carbine in a CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) M1 Carbine match! They are fired at 100 yards only. These are NOT target rifles, nor where they intended to be.
I liked the video.

OIF Veteran, I love the idea of the M1 carbine. Small, light, light ammo, easy to shoulder low recoil. I loved my M4, it had the same positives going for it, but after we added a tac light, PEQ2 or PEQ15, ACOG or M68 CCO it was no longer that light. It had a little heft to it. I at times thought id rather just have an M16A1 with nothing on it just sleek, and light. However due to the nature of what we were facing, we needed the Tac light, we needed the infrared laser/illuminator because it helped us operate at night in an urban area where we might be on the street under a full moon and can see, to enter this building with no power and its pitch black. The optic was just gravy, but ounces make pounds. At any rate, another awesome video.
