Fun fact: Betty Buckley went on to play Margaret White in the original Broadway cast of the musical Carrie, delivering one of the most powerful takes on the character.

The casting of everyone in the movie was perfect

A masterpiece!
Probably my number one favorite horror film.
Sissy Spacek is a LEGEND!
A perfect movie 🎉🎉🎉🎉

The scene most disturbing to me is at the very end. And no it wasn't Carrie's arm reaching out of the ground, though it was an excellent jump scare. It was Sue (Amy Irving) waking up terrified and shaking.

I just reread the book this morning. The movie was good; in the book however she was overweight. Sissy narrates the book too; gives me chillz! TY Sissy!!!!😊📚☕️👈

Brian DePalma traumatized me with that movie, in the best kind of way. I jumped straight out of my seat at the final scene - it was the first time a director caught me completely off guard with the pretty music, and the sweet girl in the dress and oh SH…!

Sissy Spacek was so pretty.

Carrie was the very first Stephen King book I ever read and I loved it. However, what I will say (as a 57 yr old lady) for me, the MOVIE, absolutely surpassed the book by a long shot. It is just an amazing work of art. The acting, particularly from Sissy Spacek, was INCREDIBLE and so very believable. I was bullied at school so I felt "Carrie's" pain. I was fat, ugly, rubbish at sport and all I wanted was to fit in and have friends. Instead, I was made to feel like a freak, and even the few "friends" I did have, wouldn't stick up for me when the bullies came and I had nobody in my corner. So to me, this movie is not really a "horror story" because there is so much more to it and frankly all I want to say to Carrie, is "it's not you, it's them" and give her a hug. Maybe that's why, 50 years later, this is still one of my favourite movies of all time and when I rewatch it, it STILL makes me cry for that poor girl who just wanted to be accepted.

Nobody and I do mean absolutely NOBODY could have made me feel about Carrie the way Sissy Spacek made me feel about Carrie. She brought tears out of me that I had no idea were even there

Still one of Kings best. Found the book and read it before anyone had even heard of him. Changed horror forever ❤

That $2500 is equivalent to $16,500 today. Just some context for the money you're treating with such disregard.

Many disturbing aspects to this movie, but I found the first part better than the second. Movie was well-cast.

The first time I saw this movie was back in the 90’s when I was 7 years old. Scared the shit out of me! 😵‍💫 Love it to this day.

My favorite movie of all time. ❤

We had a drive in cinema miles away from us, we rode bikes to see movies sat outside no sound. Carrie was the movie playing that night so awesome. Year 10 I read the book The Shining and was a Stephen King fan after that forever! Waited desperately for every book he put out after that.

I saw another video that said in that dream scene when Sue is walking down the street, one of the cars driving backwards was the future Plymouth Fury in Christine. Crazy, because Christine was released seven years later.

The Oscer committee was politically motivated to award their Oscar winners that year 1976 Piper Laurie should have won best supporting actress if not her then Jodie Foster of Taxi Driver instead they gave it to Beatrice Straight who only did two scenes of Network. They didn't want to give it to Piper Laurie because Carrie was a horror movie and apparently they didn't give or believe in giving awards to actors in horror films or Jodie Foster because she played a 12-year-old prostitute in a violent film.
