i kinda love this channel, short, to the point videos.

I like to call the M113 the shoe box because it looks like one.

I wonder what would they think of the A1 variant. Considering how interested they were about the auto transmision of the early models they could have been also interested in 2 stroke diesel engine of the A1.

i recommend looking into personal diary of Alexander Morozov "Танки и Люди" it contains a lot of his remarks and views on both Western and Soviet MBTs of the time

I was expecting a mush of its development,  potted statistics , footage of random vehicles and AI slop, with a "what do you think"?

Instead you actually matched the title with the content. That's very rare these days.  Excellent.

“Comrade this Apc has less armor than my vodka bottle”

the M113 look like something the soviets would produce for how simple it is to operate and manufacture

Was a 12B in the National Guard. We practiced dismounting when the rear ramp dropped and setup fighting positions. We always rode on top when driving in a convoy to get fresh air, as it would get super hot riding in them in the Texas summer. The biggest downside was all the dust from the roads blowing in your face.

Finally my beloved metal box get's some love

The simple box shape also made the M113 easily adaptable to a variety of configurations. I think the thousands of M113 still in inventories worldwide could potentially be useful as conversions into drones to support other ground drones delivered and recovered via a slightly modifed rear ramp.

Used to work in FMC Plants 3 and 6 in Santa Clara in the late 70's. I know those machines inside and out.

I love how you just abruptly cut videos without any BS.

The most important to compare bmp-1 and M113,time for crew to abandon these vehicles.Better compare M113 and BTR-60.Both of then are CARRIERS.

I drove the FISTV variant in the late 80s.  It was very dependable.  When used within its tactical perimeters it was an excellent battle taxi

All facts, no bloat. 10/10

"Comrade I would have believed you if you told me we made these"

I’ve sent one over a 2 lane road dukes of hazard style.

Caught crazy air in a modern version, traveling on the black track crossing over an msr.

We were moving…

Found out a time later that the hull had been cracked unsure if related.😅

The toaster was without a doubt one of my top favourites.

really good video, nice job man!

I really love the no beating around the bush BS, you get straight to the point! :D

I was a 19D back in the 80's and spent a lot of time in M113s and some of its variants like the M901.    They were already outdated by that time and being replaced by the Bradley.    IMO, they're really best as an armored transport van.    They're very capable offroad and can plow through small trees and brush that would stop many wheeled vehicles.    They're also simple, fairly reliable and cheap by military standards, but have light armor and only an externally mounted M2 as an armament and the lateral steering isn't great.    I watched one descend a hill in the Yakima Firing Center that was so steep it was rocking forward on its treads as it braked.  I volunteered to be a ground guide for that as I half expected it to roll end over end.
