I didn't even cover everything, Kris is just so fruitful.

I look forward to the comment section of this one.

It's interesting that Kris starts to feel more positively about Ralsei, seemingly after Ralsei opens up about their lack of self worth and feeling like it's best they be discarded when no longer of use

Kris be like: He just like me frfr

Kris might just be my favorite indie protagonist. Literally so much depht for a character with pretty much 0 known spoken dialogue. The more you learn, the more interesting they become. It's so good, man.

Their theme is going to make me cry. That's for sure

0:15 MOST REAL NUTSHELL OF THE PLAYER KRIS RELATIONSHIP I’VE EVER SEEN

Kris Cross Applesauce

never before has so much effort been put into optional content, secret dialogue, and easter eggs all surrounding one character just to reaffirm, for the umpteenth time, that their life fucking SUCKS

Speaking about NarraKris, in chapter 2, if you tried to approach Alphys and Toriel with a ball on junk on your head, the Narration will stop you and said "Can't let mom see you balancing ball if junk on your head".

The narrator refer Toriel as mom instead of the usual "your mom".

They are literally being possessed by us and working for the knight & Carol at the same time, if they weren’t the most interesting character in the game deltarune would be doing something wrong.

Even making the choices they would make is torture. Because it was YOU that made them speak, not themselves.

i just want them to be happy man…

If Pink is supposed to be a parallell to Kris, I really hope we get to reconcile with them and ACTUALLY work together in the remaining two chapters!
Kris doesn't trust the Soul obviously, but they'd be surprised at how willing we'd be to help them if they were willing to talk.

I will always say Kris & the Soul are the titular dynamic & focal point of the themes & message of Deltarune, I mean the fact that the final shard boss is straight up a mirrored picture of kris & the Soul's situation speaks volumes to me.

"Your choices don't matter" to "Your choices DO matter".

Kris obeying at specific intensities seems to be a whole thing for them. Reduced or amplified damage against the knight. 80% honey on the toast. Etc.

Kris is probably the most miserable video game protagonist ever. There is no situation, no world or route where they aren't under constant torture by their circumstances, and even with that we have the ability to rip away what little pockets of comfort they might have. Even if you do everything "right" Kris suffers one way or another. And they're literally just a teenager.

22:00 ive never even thought to blame kris cause even though their actions are suspicious I still trust them, AND they ARE just a kid, and no kid should have to go through this even if they "dug their own grave"

Kris is a really well done example of writing a character who never talks. I mean, I guess we do get to read their thoughts when checking things and they do talk to other characters, we just can’t read what they say. I think it’s cool how you can tell how much they hate wearing their brother’s clothes without them ever directly saying so.

Also for some reason the only classmate they were actively hanging out with in the period prior to the game is Berdly. Like, both Noelle and Catti say that they used to hang out but grew distant, but all of the dialogue regarding Kris and Berdly gaming together implies it’s still ongoing. This has awesome implications.

Kris probably has the most depth in all of undertale/deltarune's characters (with only a few like sans coming close), like imagine not being able to control your body and have to rip your whole heart out just to have some time to do stuff before you probably just collapse and die. Not to mention how much we as a soul ruin their life in the weird route, because as much as Noelle's sanity got worse to the point of even be willing to kill herself and Kris, it definitely also had an effect on Kris later on to the point where even hearing or thinking about Noelle, made them feel uneasy (their childhood friend by the way).

i think it's possible Kris withholds information from Noelle in the weird route, and doesn't toss the thorn ring, because they can't. we're not really sure how much freedom they actually get when they ditch us.

This video makes even more sense when paired with the theory that Kris originally had a cyan (patience) soul. The Idea that they literally "sold their SOUL" and the patience they display towards us (most of the time) really makes them a truly fascinating character. I truly hope Toby eventually allows us to give them their autonomy back though. Kris seems to be self-destructing right now, and as someone who knows that feeling, it really hurts to watch and not be able to do anything. I do not doubt Toby will resolve everything somehow, it's just terrifying waiting that's all. Please Toby let us help them 🙏
