It became a routine for Theodore, protecting Carol until he determined that she was safe, so he could sleep with her.  Carol - love him for it, as you are family to him now.

I have a 14 year old cat that over the last 3-4 months would start meowing during the night to wake me. I’m a side sleeper and Alex wouldn’t stop until I rolled to my back and he layed on my chest. At my 6 month check up with my Dr I told her about it. She ordered me a sleep study. Come to find out I would quit breathing 47 times a night an hour. My cat Alex was waking me up because I quit breathing.
I owe my life to my cat. I now have a sleep apnea machine and he has quit meowing during the night and sleeping on my chest.😺

He’s absolutely magnificent. That fluffy neck ruff really makes him look like a little lion—so regal and impressive. 🐾

Interesting, I am an agitated sleeper and would wake up several times a night.  Recently my cat started turning up sleeping against my back, and I started sleeping through the night.  She starts out at the foot of the bed, and then moves into between my legs that would wake me up because of her weight, now she is sleeping against my back as I am a side sleeper.   She is a long-haired cat too and is nice and warm.

OMG ... he is magnificent. I love the neck ruff - he's like a lion.

What amazes me is how Carol slept through it all for weeks. It’s almost like Theodore created a sense of safety strong enough to let her finally rest. That kind of silent care is so powerful 🥰🥰

These are the most wonderful cats in the world. Dont force your self on one. They are in charge and need the best of care folks.🌷🌷🌷

Never remove a cat or dog from your bed.  They are protecting you.  MC's are guardians, attempting to stop them is emotionally painful for them.  My MC sleeps by my pillow, he chases away nightmares and comforts me.  Appreciate Theodore, is an angel  sent to you by God for a reason.

lucky enough to have his twin yrs ago..Did what i thought was  a mistake and pulled up the sheets at night and he crept in .. Went for the feet . this went on for yrs. He finally passed..He came  to the fireplace  one day and laid there and passed away..Laid him in the backyard. Same face as this thank you for this post.

I definitely would have kept him. I am sure I would have fallen in love with him at first sight, and would not have been able to abandon him!  He's adorable!

Just how a pride protects each other, someone has guard duty.

My big  Norwegian Forest Cat does the same thing everyday. Everytime I wake up, I see him sitting over my shoulder and quietly watching over me. When he sees me wake up, he climbs onto my chest for pets. Fluffy cats are the best!

My kitty is half MC, half Norwegian. She is absolutely not a lap cat, but she tolerates me picking her up because she thinks it makes me happy (it does). She follows me around, guards the bathroom door when I am there, somehow always knows when I come home although I do not have a fixed schedule and tolerates anything my baby does to her with incredible patience. She usually goes to sleep on the opposite corner of the bed, but I invariably wake up sandwiched between my baby and her. I cannot turn around or move in any way, but I am happy.

I not only would have kept him, I'm about to look around my local shelters to find an old one who needs a home. Love these videos.
