2 months into renovating our 170-year-old cottage and things are looking VERY different already!

This week, we’re catching you up on everything we’ve been getting up to over the last few weeks - chimneys down, ceilings down, walls down, and we’re finally starting to change the layout upstairs and get a glimpse of what this little cottage will eventually look like.

Progress has definitely felt a little slower recently, but looking back at everything we’ve done so far, SO much has actually changed.

Great new episode and loved the house tour. :-) and Matt you did a great job filming and talking without emma there, so imo you should both do more talking together :-) Love the timelapses. Watching houserenovations on YouTube is something I love (and I watch a lot of em) and just wanted to say the quality of these vids are defidently up there, compared to other channels I know have like 500 000 followers.
And yeah I’m exited to see if you get to finish the master bedroom before Xmas. Sounds like a challenge though. 😅hugs from Norway

So I am a stranger and you asked if you will be living up stairs by Christmas. Even if you had experts works with you I don't see it happening for at least 9 months. Without experts a dream time would be Christmas of 2027 but this looks like at least a 2 year job especially of you are making a duplex into one house. Good luck.

It's interesting that your house has so much damp, yet i noticed in the ceiling seemed dry, has the house been empty for a few years.

Do any of the renovationers get asbestos reports done prior to ripping out everything? That black bitumen tanking stuff behind the plasterboard probably contains chrysotile. I dont think ive heard asbestos mentioned once in the last month of watching nothing but rennovations videos on old properties
