Both were their best versions when they were together

Yes exactly! Plus Dan & Blair ending up together completes their 2 arcs. Dan is no longer lonely boy, always on the outside hoping to be in, he is (at that point anyways) rich on his own and has a high society gf who ISNT Serena, always leaving him (she has to go). Blair's arc imo was learning to be less of a classist snob, her arrogance, scheming and classism was always the source of most her failures so ending up with Dan and having her chill out was her evolving, but the writers devolved her and made her go back to her Constance Era and with Chuck :/

I feel like he had the most chemistry with Blair. At first i was like this makes no sense but they really grew on me. And for his character to disregard serena for her that said a lot

Everytime I am reminded that Dair wasn't endgame, I remind myself that Penn Badgley and Leighton Meester are friends until now.

Always hungry for Blair and Dan video essays so here I am!

“Flawed who made mistakes “ her mistakes were literally insane lmfao

I knew Blair and Chuck were the worst for each other because it was always a competition. Blair was never first pick in anything and she felt like she was always compared to others. Chuck didn’t even know the real her just that she was vindictive like him and he loved the chase. He made her sink to the worst version of herself to get his attention. Ughh then he sold her for a hotel! A HOTEL!!! But with Dan she and her were literally academics at heart and could talk about literature, film, and art together in a way that no one else could. Even Serena found their conversations boring and pretentious. I never understood why they didn’t let Blair into Yale when she did in the books. I feel like after the writers strike of 00s and the new takeover in season 2-3 the plot really got muddled and it became spectacle over a proper storyline. Like I swear they just made it up that Dan was gossip girl. Furthermore, I will say in my last point that in Dan’s own book it is a love confession to Blair, not Serena, or Georgina, or even Vanessa but Blair. What does that say about him, the man who speaks through prose…

Yeah, I was sad that they didn’t end up together

the first time i watched the show i already knew at some point they would get together and i thought it was super weird! but watching them and their chemistry was truly insane, nobody would make me hate them, kinda sad the writers didn't give them the chance just because they rewrote all of chuck's character. you made great points, great video!!!! (also sorry if there's mistakes, english isn't my first language)

No offense, but this is a bad analysis. Given the crap ending we got, Dan didn’t love nor settle for anyone. He only loved himself. He’s a grade A sociopath. At least when he was with Serena, he had self-worth and never felt beneath her, he felt like he finally got the girl. Whereas when he was with Blair, he lied, manipulated, befriended Chuck to turn him against Blair and vice versa, took Blair at her most vulnerable, didn’t accept the fact that she broke up with him, even acted psycho on Sage’s debutante ball and used Serena on thanksgiving on the last season. When Serena finally told him she was done with him at the end and was about to move to LA, I was so glad only to be enraged that she forgives him ends up marrying him. So, no, Serena ended up settling for him. Even Blair told him he was nothing, and she was right. And let’s not forget he got with Georgina and Miss Carr while still semi together with Serena. PS: his portrayal of everyone, especially Serena in his book was very spiteful and immature.

agreed from ontario canada loved them together great chemistry

I'm still in s1 and never going to finish bc it pointless but i can even tell once dan talk to Blair  in the scene his eyes there a shaft idk if reading too much into it bc after that nothing changes but i sense in that scene with him and Blair  if the writers gave him and Blair chance the  show would've been better bc everyone is force to grow  instead being holding on to the same ppl since s1 being all toxic and boring

I’ve been saying this!!!

Agreed

💯 True

I liked Dan and Blair the most

I ALWAYS SAY THIS!!!! everybody is anti-dair

I agree

Might be, but Blaire didn’t settle for Chuck 😊
