The Marvel film that started it all. Well, between this and Blade and the X-Men movies that preceded this trilogy. Regardless, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man is what truly put Marvel superhero movies on the map and made them the billion dollar powerhouse they are today. This is the trilogy that made the Marvel Cinematic Universe possible whether fans wanna admit it or not.

I think this means you have to watch all the spider-man movies now.. then you can let us know who your favorite is!

watched this movie about 100000000x as a kid, Sam Raimi is a great director. Love all the New Yorkers 😂

one of my fav moments is when green goblin confronts jameson about where the photographer is, and he lies saying he doesnt know him at all and it comes in the mail. a brief conversation that says so much about jamesons character and his integrity deep down. in a life or death situation he protects his staff before himself.

It's worth noting that in the comics, Spider-Man doesn’t actually shoot webs from his body. Instead, Peter designed web-shooters that attach to his wrists, holding cartridges filled with a web fluid he created himself. These cartridges can run out, requiring him to reload them periodically. The web-shooters have a button on his palm that he presses with two fingers to fire the web, explaining his iconic hand motion. The idea of organic web-shooters, however, actually came from a script James Cameron wrote in the '90s for a Spider-Man film that was never made.

Future Spider-Men, like Andrew Garfield’s and Tom Holland’s versions, do use web-shooters, making Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man the odd one out with his organic web-shooting ability. However, Tobey’s other powers, such as super strength, wall-crawling, and spider-sense are all pulled directly from the comics. The organic web-shooters are the main departure from the source material, Comic Peter is also more tech based as well creating tools and gadgets to counter his villains.

There are also some other differences between the comics and the films. For instance, Peter is 17 or 18 years old when he’s bitten by the spider in the film, whereas he was only 15 in the comics. This change was likely made because the filmmakers wanted to move Peter quickly beyond high school and into his post-high school life with his graduation. In fact, Peter’s high school years were only explored briefly in the comics, with his college era being what most readers grew up with and what influenced many directors.

Another change relates to key characters like MJ, Norman Osborn, and Harry Osborn, who were only introduced when Peter started college in the comics. In the films, however, these characters are brought into the high school environment, although other adaptations have done this as well. The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008) a really great animated series was solely set around High School and teenage versions of these characters.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, by comparison, is a great high school film that captures the spirit of Peter's early 1960s comics. Tom Holland is my personal favorite Spider-Man, a perfect blend of Peter Parker and Spider-Man and I’m super excited to see his character grow. He's also the youngest Spider-Man here, becoming Spider-Man at 15 like the comics so it's just a very differant vibe to these earlier movies.

10:49 That scene was actually done for real and done over 100 times before getting it right

There’s only one Spider Man! There’s only ever gonna be one Spider Man! 🕷️🔥

I used to watch this religiously when I was 4 and it made spidey my favorite superhero of all time. I love seein’ shawty get into the shit that made me the nerd I am today💯😂🫶🏾

7:22 the serum drove him nuts, it made him develop split personality disorder. Sometimes he Norman, sometimes the goblin persona literally takes over and Norman doesn’t exist

This movie kinda proves how Toby the strongest of the live action spider men man took a grenade to the face after catching a trolly full of kids and his girl while getting hit no way to block and then got the beats even more afterwards and still got back up and won

MJ was getting around 😂

43:17 I just now peeped Peter got on green and Norman had on red and blue

I love the scene where you see him fight flash. Peter sees every thing during a fight in slow motion while still being able to move at mormal speed. Pretty cool

The lunch room scene was practical I think it took 116 tries that y he froze he was dead shocked he did it

My favorite Spiderman series with Tobey McGuire....I thought 1, 2, 3 were excellently done. did not like that they remade it ....

Yeaaaa let’s get more Spidey content!

The blow up part at the end is the coolest shot

I'm sorry, but you could not cast a comic book villain any better than Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin. He portrays that split personality so damn well, the way he switches seamlessly from the meek-mannered Norman Osborn to the sadistic and cruel Green Goblin.

I love seeing people react to my favorite movies

Best web slinging Spiderman. Raimi really delivered that aspect better than any director.
