Not only was this the worst kiln opening in years the sound was also terrible, I really debated whether I should post this video or not. I decided to upload this video, it’s sometimes nice to see the losses as well as the wins.

This firing the top temp was 2200 with a 8 min hold! Dropped the temp to 2000 with a 30 min hold!

Clear glaze recipe
I add 6% mazerine stain to get the blue glaze
I add 8% of tangerine Mason stain to achieve the orange glaze

It is not the worst kiln opening with that stunning black walnut - honey flux bowl in it!! Also the peace birds are awesome and I really like the cayenne - cheetah combo and I bet other people will too.

Oh no. I’m so sorry to see the title of this video. That’s so odd with the underglazes bubbling like that. Are you sure you used zinc free clear? That bog bowl is just so beautiful!! Great kiln load really. Sorry about all of the problems. ❤❤❤❤

I am so glad you did post this video. Thank you for sharing even if you were not sure about it.
You sadly had a lot of running,😒 but a lot of wonderful pieces all the same with your great glaze combos.😊
I am impressed by the doves with Studio white (which I di have) and the UG painted on. I am definitely going to try that. 👌
You landscape bowl is beautiful.

Shame that you have a lot of running but wow so many gorgeous combos. The bowl with Louisiana bayou honey flux combo looks like an octopus or jellyfish shape in the bottom🐙. I love that combo. Trace 💙

Hello! Well, there are a few pieces that I loved, including the large landscape bowl. I appreciate that you share your combinations with us! I do have a question: do you use a dremel to grind? I’ve only been able to find aluminum oxide drill bits. Is that what you use for finer grinding? If you use a dremel, appreciate if you could share the model. Thanks again for the great video and the tour of your giant vegetable garden!

Try poppy fields with your pink/red satin matt cup and candle tub - you might like it more.

That bowl is really gorgeous! It should just be called the National Park bowl. I had a beet and raspberry smoothie once that was so good - another idea for beet usage 😅

Sorry to see you had so many problems as the pieces are beautiful! Possibly your honey flux got too thick? I have to thin mine periodically, same with the oatmeal.
I’m sure Todd will have them looking great! Question? Will you apply more oatmeal for the re-fires?

Well for some reason the comment box wouldnt appear for me! I had to clear out and come back to your page. It is funny because I have been looking for masculine type combos and was planning some black walnut combinations then see a lot of them here! Love them...it was still a great KO💙 love your garden
