Unfortunately, when your country is built on the idea that anyone can make it if they try hard enough, failing upward is also a long tradition. I love this country but it's still true.

"a pickle for the knowing ones" is available to read online
don't know anyone who could make it through 20 pages of that, but it's there

"Associate with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for it is better to be alone than in bad company."

- Jorge washeton

A case where history is indeed weirder than fiction.

The punctuation in his book was paid DLC. A true visionary.

I'm convinced this guy was a time traveler who went back to build a generational fortune.

You can buy a copy of “A Pickle For the Knowing Ones”

He also sent a shipment of furcoats to south america and sold all the stock, bought by people who planned an expedition into Siberia.

Luck stat builds are way more successful in real life than they are in fiction.

Few things Sam didn't mention that I learned from reading the book:

-The statue of Jefferson was one of the statues Timothy commissioned on his property. Imho why argue with the guy who's paying you for the commission? Just carve the bad information and take the money lol.

-He shot at the carver with a pistol, not a rifle. He also pointed a gun at his son to make him shoot at the carver too.

-He actually did get arrested for that. He got sent to an asylum. But being rich, he bought his way out.

-He had a black servant who glazed him and helped him with his unhinged projects.

-The poet was involved in a LOT more business ventures than fish and pr0n, he seemed to be a jack of all trades.

-The people at his fake funeral were sent invitations, they didn't just show up unprompted.

2:12 I think it’s less that it’s a “popular design” and more that Pizza Hat hotswaps locations like bad habit, and instead of their former locations being torn down and rebuilt, they get ‘rehomed’ to pop-up businesses that would be fools to fix what “isn’t broke.”

Stupid as all hell, but somehow succeeding anyway. I can only dream of that happening.

Keep in mind when reading this book, he dropped out in the second grade so that means he technically only completed the first grade so the fact he can’t even form sentences is kind of a miracle and the lack of grammatical anything makes sense

Why... can't I get that dumb lucky?

My Man literally pulled himself up by the bootstraps

Oh this Sam o'nella Video is a classic.

I didn't know how scary a Sub-Brick with maxed Charisma is until I've seen that video... Well played God, well played

Intelligence: 1
Luck: 10

Tor’s cabinet of curiosities has a great follow up video to this that goes into more detail and expresses that he might not of been that stupid after all

9:28 yo, how do you know all that, man?!

Ya making me feel illiterate af 😭
