In this session, FIVETOOLTRAINING coach Vin Mallon works with a Division I hitter from Central Connecticut State University on creating a more adjustable and athletic move at the plate.

The focus is on learning how to sit into the back hip, create a controlled load, maintain connection with the ground, and ride the forward move without rushing into the swing.

From there, the goal is being able to swing the foot down, stay balanced, and give the hitter more time and adjustability against different pitches and speeds.

The goal isn’t to simply get to a position — it’s to create a move that allows the hitter to see the ball longer, stay athletic, and make better swing decisions.

TRAINING FOCUS:
• Loading into the back hip
• Maintaining the ground
• Riding the forward move
• Controlling the front side
• Swinging the foot down
• Creating adjustability
• Improving timing and pitch recognition
