It is not useless information if some people are still assuming that making historically accurate costumes means pouring 100 years of fashion in a singular outfit and calling it 16th century

When Karolina said that I just imagined her in front of a castle in her Snowwhite dress, holding a battering ram, trying to tear down the gates like "Let me in, let me iiiiinnnnnn!"

Hey, hi, German here ✌🏽
the Goldhaube is actually a very specific cap from lower Bavaria. It’s heavily decorated with gold beads and thread and the women would put hundreds of hours into the making of their individual Goldhaube. They would then be worn at parades and it was a special honour to be part of such a group. My Grandma used to be a Goldhaubenfrau and I always found it fascinating to see the handiwork that goes into a cap.

If Snow White's design had been historically accurate, the animators would have stormed out of Disney and quit en masse. You made a truly beautiful garment. I can't even imagine having to do this all by hand. Seamstresses and tailors were genuine badasses, in my opinion.

Important note: The Grimm brothers were not the creators of the stories, they actually traveled around Germany and collected old folk tales. They did this as part of their research on language changes. They were not looking for inspiration or trying to write fairytales, they were simply collecting data by interviewing a lot of people from different spans of life. All of the stories had been told for generations, the Grimm brothers happened to be the ones to write them down.
