EFAP Gartic phone art rule: Everything vaguely humanoid and green eventually mutates into Fringy

The magic of the Blessed Pipeman coming along and telling a fantastical tale from which the EFAPers could learn an important lesson fitting to the setuation that happened beforehand is simply amazing.

Don bless the Pipeman. His docile voice paints a picture that would put the Renaissance artists to shame.

The missing part of the adaptation argument is the opportunity cost of an unfaithful adaptation.

If you have the licence to adapt an existing story and then tell a significantly different story, fans are going to be upset because they won't get the faithful adaptation that someone else might have told with the same licence.

The original story being told under the adaptation could have existed on its own without displacing the faithful adaptation that actually needs the licence to be made at all.

Having found Wolf, Mauler and Rags all separately before EFAP and having watched them form this community together from the start I am so happy and proud of them for making it this far. Plus I’m proud of this community for continuing to support these creators and watch as new ones fill in the gaps.

Best to all the EFAP crew, Guests and fans. Here’s onto EFAP 200

32:10 This is why Meme is so terrible at Gartic Phone. Listen to him: "No it's too late!" This is what he says when MauLer reassures him about the "undo" function.

Guys I think Meme Repository is a vessel for Lovecraftian dieties, and they're trying to speak to us, commanding Meme's frail hands to communicate, and yet only sewing further confusion in their wake...

"New Bat Now" is art.

Voxist might be my favorite efap guest

I think Clownfish TV's Geeky Sparkles would get along with Rags.
She loves her She-Ra toys with brushable hair.
She could brush Rags' brushable fur.

I didn't expect a hard debate 21hrs and 30mins into a 3 part stream (about 4:40 here).  Everyone woke right the fuck up for that!

Meme repository copped a lot of flack but his drunkenness was awesome in the drawing bits

It was heartwarming to see J Longbone's cameo at the end of "New Bat Now"!  👏 🕺

Why does no one realize that Ed Norton's Hulk is part of the MCU? He had his own movie with Abomination as the villain. Nick Fury shows up in it.

Fringy is proud of me because I understand his reference!

My day is saved!

I will repeat the assertion I have made over many EFAPs, now...

...M has the best laugh of any guest, host or covered content creator.

I appreciate Clipped sticking it out. I don't think he did the best job but I probably wouldn't make the argument he did. Though it sounds like there's two arguments going on, one about the story thing itself, and one about whether or not adaptations are bad.

"There's gonna be a primary version of every character."
"There isn't a specific canon for the Joker."
Uh huh.

So, this is an example that I think of on their stands on adaption and isn’t faithful

So, imagine that you got a good friend called John, you have two have been friends for a while. The good the bad, high points, and low points, you two had seen a lot of it. However, one day, someone who dresses like John and said hi to you and goes, “Hey”, and hugs you
You ask him who he is and he said that he’s, john, your friend.
You know that he isn’t John, so you called John, John explains that a guy name Zack asks him where he got his clothes on the street.
You find it weird but as time goes on and you get to know Zack. Zack is a cool dude, he's fitter than John, and he's also funnier than John. He also doesn’t get loud when he's drunk. However, he always talks to you like his and old friend and refers to himself as John which annoys you.
One day you got into a bar and saw Brian who you know, and he never met John in person before. He then goes “Hey John” to Zack. You try to explain to Brian that his name isn’t John, but Zack and his been trying to be John. Brian goes “okay” and “whatever” because he only knows Zack as John.

I think this is how Rippa and the others feel about these unfaithful adaptions. They aren’t questioning or judging the quality of the films but they had a bit of them keep asking, “why are they pretending to be John(Why did they using the character’s name)”.
If a character got changed so much and become unrecognizable, then why use them in the first place? Even if the answer is simple as “Money” and the adaption was good, bits of them would keep asking this question and it bothers them.
My stands on adaptions are that there is essential essence that the characters have and removing them would make them unrecognizable. There is a slider somewhere in your brain that makes you recognize a change that had when too far.

For all the arguing back and forth on the topic of adaptation with Blame I'm surprised no one just pressed him on the thing he always fell back on "If it's a bad story don't adapt it, if it's a good one then you should stay faithful to the source". Like there all you have to ask is why. I think I heard someone say the "should" in those positions, explicit or implicit, is part of the root issue.

Because I can easily see merits of Blame's argument but at the same time from everyone else's if you hold to it strictly and purely then it seems irrational, and that's why all the hypotheticals kept getting brought up, to see what the extent the position can be held.
