Ura is such a nice guy, always smiling, and then I just see a clip of him casually breaking a man's arm in half from a standing position from brute force alone.

The pure brute force behind the impacts from these guys is just insane.

Sumo has the coolest dressed referees that I’ve ever seen.

Ura’s elbow snap was one of the more brutal moves I’ve seen

First one was so brutal I had to look away, and hearing the commentators say "placing him outside like a baby" made me faint 😳

I honestly never knew how interesting and exciting sumo wrestling can be

It's interesting to see the lack of medical personnel in a few of these.

Hakuhos slap+shouler blast gotta be the most dangerous sumo combo ever

3:57 Love me some Chiyonufuji, God that man was f***ing BEAST!!!

Let's be honest, there could have been a way more violent top 10 just collecting Hakuho and Asashoryu bouts..

The number one match the sumo wrestler was awesome making sure his opponent was ok even though he lost and other guy with hurt ankle was ok respect

I miss prime Toshinoshin, dude was a walking forklift. Hope he enjoys his retirement

Sad to watch the moment Tochinoshin injured his knee.

"Rikishi, we know you are severely concussed and we will give you medical attention, but first you MUST SHOW RESPECT AND BOW!!" -- literally what happens in #6
...and #2
... and #1 (where he does actually bow)

2:53 good lord that was a hit

That throw by Hoshoryu was absolutely beautiful.

Oh, just another Monday evening after work randomly watching Sumo.. nothing out of ordinary

Mongolian Hakuho and Asashoru are brutal.

My wife used to get ring side seats via her boss via big pharma companies.  Man-o-man!!!  Watching it live, metres away from the dohyo with free flowing beer and food....and presents on your way out!!  The last time we got tickets (her boss retired) coincided perfectly when my brother and his family visited us in Tokyo.  Sooooooo much idle time in Sumo (good for the feasting) but when the excitement of that crowd grows you seem to be intoxicated on more than what you have imbibed.

Sumo's origins go way back, probably over 1,500 years. Back then, it wasn’t bound by rules like today—it was literally a fight to the death. There’s a story about Nomi no Sukune, the world’s oldest recorded sumo wrestler, who faced off against Taima no Kuehaya and snapped his spine in half, killing him.
