To me, Chiyonofuji was the G.O.A.T. Besides being great at sumo, I still remember my mom saying, "He's so handsome."🥰

I remember Akebono Tarao being the Yokozuna when I was a kid but I thought his name was actually Yokozuna back then.

Chiyonofuji was my favourite. Incredible skill. One of my first sporting heroes.

2021 Hakuho last bouts was a show of his retirement. He was badly injured and they want to give him a legend goodbye. And he deserved it.

Hakuho is the GOAT, he saved sumo twice from self destruction after two major scandals that could have ended the sport as we know it

Chiyonofuji for me was the best. I think he had tougher all around competition in his era. Also Wajima's achilles heel was Takamiyama. Jesse won most of his 12 gold stars defeating him .

I haven't watch sumo for long time so my Yokozuna, and the Best one for me, is Hakuho.
He was the one that bring me to this great sport. 😊😊

Hakuho has to be the greatest. We were lucky to see him in our time.

Hakuho v Asashoryu was such an explosive rivalry. Sumo at its best.

This AI voice over is horrible. People need to stop this

Asashoryu will always be my favorite, followed by the GOAT Hakuho and then kakuryu

@unfixablegop 1 year ago

People will quibble about the rankings. But the only clear misplacement is Futabayama. How can you put the guy with the longest winning streak way back at 9?

@Yoppppol 1 year ago

Hakuho and Asashoryu is the best in era of 2000-2010 and now we have the new era of Onosato and Hoshoryu 🎉

Futas Winstreak is not soooo hard to explain imo.
1. it started not as yokuzuna so lower opponents
2. some of the higher frighters did not fight so he gots promoted not for achieving it but just to be a filler so also not all the beste opponents
3. and most important so less tournaments (because of war of course but there wherent 6 Tournaments each year even if all Torunaments could happen (only 2 per year than 4 after war and than in the 60s than 6 per year) THIS means much much more regeneration time which normally prefers the higher ranked fighter (think about it 69 Wins took him THREE Years, today thats only a thing for TEN MONTH where you have 75 fights
