This album truly feels like a once in a generation kind of album, and I rarely say that about albums. I truly believe it will stand the test of time and go down in history as one of the best albums of all time.

I cant recall ever getting goosebumps for every single track on an album

Me: Sobbing to Fields 😭

Also Me: Immediately doing a 180, wiping eyes and shaking ass when Joy begins 🎉😂

Ok so for the song Joy when she says I may Cry through the night but my joy comes in the morning she is quoting a Bible scripture which says you may cry in the night but God will bring you joy in the morning the song is so gospel coded from the instrumentation to the lyrics which are clearly a declaration that pastors or men of God do like when she says I declare I am somebody I declare there will be joy

Raye is 28 and her grandad just recently passed.  That is his voice on Fields.  Her other Granddad was one of the voices on I'm Not Giving Up.  She got that voice snippet when he was in hospice if you can believe that.  I heard her talking about that in a recent interview. Raye is touring the states now.  She just played Denver yesterday.

40:11 - This song is based on the promise from Psalm 30:5 ("...weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning"), which signifies that darkness (i.e. sorrow and difficulties) are temporary. It essentially represents hope - that difficult "night seasons" will pass and be replaced by restoration, light, and joy. 🙌

I’m so glad you GET IT! 👏 I just saw her on tour and I both danced and sobbed 💃😭 this is such a special album ❤

Her sense of humor gives us hope too. The way she talks about embarrassing things is fascinating. I hate the way I look today ( but I’m sings with a good jazz. I don’t mind); ok, it’s a sad song about a broke up, but it’s solar and I’m greatfull for the story we’ve been builded together. Anyway. She is fantastic

Liked immediately bc I knew you would love this one !
WhatsApp Shakespeare has been on repeat since first listen and wow I had never heard that notification sound in the background 🤯. This is exactly why the album is just soooo good❤

THANK YOU FOR THE WINTER WOMAN LOVE!!!! i’ve watched so many reactions and so many people are sleeping on this one but you GET it

40:15 is a Bible verse, Psalm 30:5 - "Weeping may endure through A night, but joy comes in the morning." This verse is one about hope. It means sorrow does not last forever, and that trials are temporary. Through God this reigns true .

She’s absolutely incredible

I love the love for fields it's one of my favourites on the album to it's so beautiful and underrated but so good.

It’s really about faith and hope. You are not the heavy cloud which keeps above you. Stay strong cause the pain will come to an end. I appreciate how amazing she was to address this theme so gently and empathetic. Thanks, Raye 🙏🏾

Fun fact I used to live on Nightingale Lane (confirmed at the same time that Raye is singing about on this album, crazy to think she was going through it over a man at the exact same time I was too) but what makes this even crazier is that before NL I used to live above The Black Dog... if I had a nickel for everytime one of my favourite artists wrote a song about a pub next to my place I'd have two nickels but it's weird that it happened twice right?

I love you're reaction to this album, spot on!
I was lucky enough to see her in Glasgow in Feb and heard her perform some of these tracks live and I think she's just as good if not better live she's my all time favourite

Love your reactions.  Great album, Im obsessed myself.

I would LOVE something visual for this album. It’s like a play and I want to see more. Every song has so many goosebumps moments for me. It’s powerful and emotional and beautiful. And her voice is just incredible. He new artist at the Grammys a few years ago was incredible

im so obsessed with this albummm! she's such an artist

I also feel like this album is about support networks too (family & friends) and how important they are for your mental health and wellbeing in life ❤️
