That's on me guys, I shouldn't have thrown in AI thumbnails. You deserve better. I've replaced the thumbnails with handmade creations. While we're here though, I wanted to get a more general reading on the channel.  if you have any more feedback, video requests, or suggestions leave it down below.

I just saw a video where all the NPCs in this game are replaced with JFK. Impeccable timing

My favorite part of this game is when Kravchenko pulls the pins on like at least 5 grenades at once and him and Woods go out the window and explode neither of them die and neither of them are injured to the point that they cannot remain active in their respective militaries until the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

The entire game is huge of movie references, the Vorkuta escape was entirely based in the movie  The Last Castle, including the steps to freedom and the Helicopter rope.

12:40 It absolutely is weird hearing German when I play games in English. Mainly because either they cast English speakers and make them speak German, which means they have a weird accent, or because I get confused for a second because suddenly there's something being said in your language.

I can confidently say that Black Ops 1 is "when mom says we have MGS3 at home"

Nice of you to mention Jonathan Ferguson, Keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history

This channel has enough patrons to not be using AI for thumbnails.

maybe the numbers meant the friends we made along the way

this game was like a bad acid trip and it shaped me so much, im really happy i was there for this one.

12:39 Scheiße, wir sind aufgeflogen! RÜCKZUG! Ehm, I mean. Yeah, sometimes, it is weird, but only when it is done bad. Like, in the film "Fury" (in German: "Fury - Herz aus Stahl", because we always need those subtitles for some reason), Brad Pitt, playing an American soldier, speaks a lot (A LOT) better German than the cast who was supposed to play the Germans. Interestingly, because we have a huge synchronicity culture in Germany, most media is voice acted by skilled voice artists. That is also a reason why a lot of discussions surounding accents and bad pronounciation and whatever is not an issue.

this is genuinely too funny of a video

BO1 is a classic video game studio’s take on classic Hollywood studios’ takes on the time period. It’s solidly sci-fi because of all the hard to get original assets and product placement but it presents its anachronisms like a generic Cold War arcade shooter and it’s peak and all the characters are chads.

6:20 - No one tell Woods who the scientists they hired in NASA for the moon landing.

the funniest thing about lee harvey oswald going to the USSR is that he made a very public display of telling the US embassy that he intended to disclose (at the time) classified information about the spy plane project he worked on, rescinded his US citizenship while in the USSR, married the daughter of a low level soviet state official, and then was allowed right back into the US with open arms after he returned. Wonder what that's all about.

dragonbreath shells would fall under indiscriminate weapons due to the fire aspect to use you own words sir swag

On the topic of 4:59, Jacob Geller has a great video about war crimes in Call of dury (or more specifically torture), where he does count every torture scene

I love how when you talk you constantly sound like you’re on the verge of laughter

20:58 Fun fact about that scene. The battleship on the left is BB-68 USS Ohio, one of the cancelled Montana class of battleships originally planned to succeed Iowa class and the one on the right is classified as BB-72 which would've been a theoretical post Montana design. So in the CodVerse the United States just kept building battleships apparently. Probably because they're cool AF. The more you know I guess.

I always find it weird that Reznov is sent to Vorkuta after the whole Nova 6 incident in that ship. Or why/how the main antagonists expected for Mason to meet JFK in person, like, dude, he was a soldier in a sea of soldiers, why Mason in specific would be given a private meeting to JFK, unless the whole plan was giving an open sniping demonstration
