I got the world record for the hardest speedrun in Plague Inc, all plagues on mega brutal difficulty. You need to play almost perfectly for a lot of these plagues to do this, so it's a really interesting run

Some of strats I used were from other speedruns, and some were from Tatsur0's guide on Steam. Check them out here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/tatsur0...

My channel generally focuses on a more casual side of speedruns. With these videos I want to show off cool speedruns, explain how they work, and entertain. Hopefully you enjoy the content and maybe even take up speedrunning yourself, because it is truly a lot of fun!

Fun fact: plagued inc is CDC endorsed. They believe the game to be a great tool for understanding how pathogens work and evolution of diseases.

Greenland is like that one friend who you’d never think would be athletic, then when they’re the last one In dodgeball they become a god.

17:35 you just KNOW some guy in a lab somewhere cracked this thing WIDE open and came rushing out with the cure in hand to learn… that no one was left to actually produce it… 🤣

Just in case you were wondering the "manufactured memory" sounds like a psychology concept called "false memories" where if you gather enough information, your brain begins to really want to put everything together to make an actual story. It actually starts to piece together real events, imaginary details made up by the mind, and sometimes details distorted by other memories as well. These memories can actually begin to feel so real that in the past during law cases, there has actually been innocent suspects who start believing they were actually involved in the crime, resulting in false confessions.

This game was so good they made a live action of this after 8 years of it's release

Plague Inc. Wiki editor and longtime community member here, thank you for giving the game a boost in exposure and popularity with this video. It’s a game with fascinating mechanics, so I’m glad you took the time to learn them through. 😊

By the way, Severity is a trade off mechanic - humanity’s response will be stronger, but you get more DNA from popping bubbles :)

1:00:00 smell is actually the sense most closely associated with our memory, so it makes total sense that you really remember that smell and associate it with the good times of your childhood vacations. I have something similar with a hand soap my family had during one Christmas, it was super strong and I kept smelling it almost to the point that it made me sick, but now, looking back on it, any time I’m able to recall the scent, it makes me super happy and nostalgic.

Funny story... When I was younger, back in 2019, I used to play this game a lot. And it would lowkey make me kind of scared that I accidently made a plague in real life, so I decided to stop playing it. Little did I know that right around that time covid hit and I thought I was the one who made it for a bit... Scared me so bad 😭😭😭

I'm not sure what I like more, the fact that when Speezy upgrades a single symptom like Cytopathic reanimation every person every infected with the disease suddenly becomes a zombie like sleeper agents, or the fact that his vampire managed to kill every single person in Greenland by itself, including the entire military and everyone who would be hiding in a bunker. Absolutely legendary plague creation

Wasn’t expecting a random affirmation from Speezy during the Vampiric Plague

I can barely do bacteria on casual mode and this guy is speed running all plagues on mega brutal mode. Huge respect.

@HeavenlyJadeAngel 2 years ago

mega brutal is...very brutal...seriously though, it feels impossible, even with a guide, because something goes wrong or you don't do something at the exact correct time and then you lost the entire game. I respect you for doing something like this.

13:47 "so this game gives you abilities to make the plague less likely to be noticed... that we wont be using at all"😸

59:00 i remember reading something about this in high school psychology: memory tends to be constructed from our thoughts and isn't particularly accurate!

I studpied criminology in college, and it had a lot of overlaps with sociology. One of the topics we learnt were how unreliable witness testomonies can be due to how easily manipulated they can be. Not even maliciously, but due to an officer saying one thing, or presenting suspect portraits too early, it has the power to totally flip the memories around and instill fake ones. It's a really interesting!

God the RNG must have been painful for this game
