Why does India need a light tank when it already operates the T-72 and T-90? What makes the Zorawar different? Why is it being built for some of the world’s most difficult terrain? And how will this new tank shape India’s armoured warfare?

Colonel Anurag Awasthi (Retd) explains the Zorawar’s role in high-altitude warfare, its development journey, the challenges of adding protection without sacrificing mobility, and how it compares with China’s Type 15.
