I will never not be angry about Cyprus qualifying with that performance, while Switzerland and Latvia, two of my personal top six this year, did not.

Bulgaria got the 3rd biggest televote in a semi final of all time, and she did it from 1st in the running order! This was the stronger semi as well!

almost an hour of statistics from tom about eurovision, this goddamn day finally got better

@JamboreeJoeNG 3 months ago

A stat with Azerbaijan I thought you'd mention was that literally every televote minus themselves and Malta (both of whom put Armenia last) put them last. I think that might be a new record!

Love the video, hate being reminded of how Albania was a jury NQ when cyprus was right there and now I want to crash out

@briefeule 3 months ago

It‘s still crazy to me how little the juries appreciated Albania

Ukraine really liking Rock music. The top 3 are all Rock songs in the televote

@johnoflaherty9105 3 months ago

Latvia was good enough to qualify

Tomorrow i have an important exam and i need to study but i couldn't miss this video for nothing in the world!
I'm so glad the juries were back in the semi-finals this year, i would have lost my top 2 (🇨🇿🇸🇪)
It would have been so devastating 😭

Bulgaria is the first semifinal opener to win the contest. The best result a semifinal opener had gotten in the contest before that was Serbia 2012 finishing third (Zeljko Joksimovic) and after that I believe its Bulgaria 2007 (only time they ever qualified between 2005 and 2013), Sweden 2017 (Robin Bengston) and Norway 2023 (Queen of the Kings) all finishing 5th.

Aidan does not need that cowboy hat.

20:25 Armenia is making a new pattern! Qualifying 4 times and then NQ twice

i love the semi final analysis

The televote of both Semis this year were won by show-openers (if you look past Israel). Also something that has never happened before I guess.

I’m gooped that the best song in Eurovision scored so low. Latvia, you had all of my votes at least.

I believe Gottem said there was controversy about Bulgaria in Ukraine because of Kontopolous' ties to Kirkorov and the Dream Team, which raised suspicion (that Kirkorov tried to stoke post-contest) that there was some level of Russian involvement with that entry. So that hindered its public score a ton, and the Ukrainian jury (who don't really go for girlbops in general, come to think of it - don't recall them voting for "Fuego" or "SloMo" either) might've been affected by that, too.

maybe a bit of a fun fact for the grand final: the was the first grand final where we got to hear 12 points to Romania from a country that is not Moldova or with a huge Romanian diaspora (Italy, Spain) since 2005. the amount of memes about a new Luxembourg-Romania friendship was insane 😭

@justclancy0.0 3 months ago

actually the armenian pattern kinda continued, simon got 14th in the semifinal instead of 14th in the final so maybe next year armenia will get 8th place in the semi 😂
